THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• Due to Marz's injury, Mr. BIG was forced to "call an audible" for the finish of the Devil's Den match. Marz was due to be the only survivor and gain the momentum of the victory into January. However, when Hill's legitimate guitar shot gave Marz a Grade II Concussion, Mr. BIG used the time taken to get Marz out of the ring to come up with a finish. He expected to be criticised for his decision, but, he received universal acclaim from the locker room for carrying the final part of the match. There is a feeling that since Sophie's departure Mr. BIG has returned to his old self and has been "nothing short of amazing in the ring". Biggie has told friends that he will be cooking a special Christmas dinner for Sophie on Christmas Eve, confirming to me at least that he misses her terribly.
• Hill's stock in the TWF depends entirely on who you speak to. A lot of the locker room find him good company, but there are others who hear his constant berating of Mr. BIG and Marz, who he has consistently called "whiny little bitches" and "terrible wrestlers and worse human beings". Hill is expected to remain in the TWF for the remainder of his contract, which runs out in June, but after Sunday's events (which apparently, he planned), it will be very interesting to see how his stock falls.
• Lewis Kingston has also come in for serious criticism about his conduct lately. In a recent wrestler's night out, Kingston was throwing some serious jabs at Marz, who has had a tough time lately with his parents falling ill and his grandfather falling seriously ill (he lost one grandfather during the TWF's hiatus in 2006), with Kingston joking about his grandfather without knowing about Marz's issues. According to one source "his partying with his friends in the Ospreys rugby team is also effecting him as some of them are well-known troublemakers and he'd do better to get shot of them".
• Frekishi has kept himself remarkably quiet since his return to the company, something many find good news. Frek spends a lot of time working for the Renault racing team through his motorsport engineering firm and is often seen speaking on his phone or laptop to people in the factory about progress. It is unsure whether his commitment to the company will decrease when the season starts up again in 2010, although Frekishi has been told that is one of the few TWF stars who will be allowed to drift in and out of the company due to his long association with the federation and his current good standing.
• Lucy Rose and NJS were both seen walking around holding engagement rings at PayBack, with the surprising news that NJS proposed to his girlfriend of almost two years just after the December 11 edition of Fury. The two are planning to get married in March 2010 when the TWF visits New York. Although many have their doubts the wedding will happen, NJS did announce that Mr. BIG would be organising proceedings, with many expecting it to be "the wedding to end all weddings". Mr. BIG did state that he would expect Deadman to be the best man, but would likely give a speech at the wedding reception, which many are already anticipating being "the best promo he will ever deliver".
• Marz and Mr. BIG made a surprise appearance on the final Paul O'Grady show as one of the many celebrities who turned up to pay tribute to the program. Marz paid tribute to the program's warmth and how much fun it was to appear on the program, where as Mr. BIG simply said "there's going to be a big void in our lives because we can't turn on the TV to see you every evening". The duo also surprised another young fan on Noel's Christmas Presents on Sunday, offering to help a young fan who has mounting medical bills. The duo drew much of the crowd to tears when they produced a cheque to pay off the debts and then give the young man front row seats to Unleashed in January as well as the pick of anything at the TWF's online shop.
• Highly touted prospect Bill Wren will be making his début at the beginning of 2010. He is expected to undergo a name change of some kind as the TWF wants to build him up in a similar style to Bill Goldberg was hyped in WCW and Hades's initial début in the TWF. Wren was considered the best wrestler in PWC by some margin and is expected to be a big deal in 2010.
• Former TWF talent Sammi announced on her Facebook page this week that she was 4 months pregnant, a revelation that came as a surprise to those who knew her in the TWF locker room. Since leaving the TWF and working in advertising, she has become known as a serious party-goer and socialite in the South Wales area. There is no news on who the father is but many in the TWF were quick to pass on their congratulations.
• The TWF is considering opening a shop in the middle of Bridgend town centre. The company had thought about this many years ago, but instead decided to create the annex that is next to the Bridgend Dome. However, the company is looking to aquire the old McDonalds site and renovate it into a two story building that will house a restaurant, small merch desk and information centre that will provide details to fans about the TWF's upcoming events, in a similar way to the TWF's previous venture in Orlando that was based on WWF New York. Some in Bridgend feel that the town is not exploiting itself as the home of the TWF enough and that they could be doing more to get visitors into the town centre itself. It is also worth pointing out that the new shop will be only the third physical location to sell TWF products after the TWF Arena concourse and the Bridgend Dome.

• There was a feeling earlier this week as the TWF began planning it's early 2010 storylines that the TWF roster would be particularly thin on the ground. Many ideas were thrown out due to them having taken place before. However, this was remedied by the announcement halfway through proceedings from Mr. BIG that two former TWF legends would be returning in 2010, which immediately got ideas going and the company is now looking forward to the new year.
• Despite the plan for pay‐per‐view names to continue to stay the same, there is a feeling that from 2010, some pay‐per‐view names will become permanent. For example, Unleashed is the new name for January pay‐per‐views, and there is a feeling that the new names for the May and September events will be forthcoming. There is a suggestion that PayBack will move from December to September and a new event will take place in December, but this will not be until 2012 at the earliest.
• With the news that the WWE will continue on Sky until 2015, there was some doubt thrown around backstage that the TWF could be given the heave‐ho after Sky One exclusivity became a part of the deal. The TWF and Sky have had a fractured relationship since 2004 when the network booted Grit BasH to accommodate a mid-week premiere of WWE RAW. Since 2008 however things have looked better, but, there is still some concern that the TWF could end up on Virgin1, which is looking a serious possibility with Virgin's presence on Freeview. Virgin has announced that the "trial" of on demand viewings of TWF pay‐per‐views will become permanent after demand far exceeded what Virgin expected.
• Mr. BIG's personal situation has led to many rumours being thrown around backstage in the past few weeks. Biggie was feeling very ill in the past few weeks as well as a combination to bad illnesses to his parents, his relationship with Sophie breaking down (which he took badly) and criticism of his matches since his return to the ring becoming apparent in his demeanour. However, Biggie turned up at Dangerously Serious with a big smile on his face and was delighted to "have proved critics wrong". He was exchanging a series of phone calls to Playboy model Jessica Burciaga after the event, which lead many to believe the two are getting together, but Biggie told my source there's a large barrier between them: "the Atlantic Ocean" and he's not interested at the moment.
• The TWF's recent publicity tour will see The Assassin make an appearance as a guest on BBC2's Never Mind the Buzzcocks in a few weeks, Mr. BIG and Marz will appear on the Paul O'Grady Show at some point before the show ends.
• The Year of Living Dangerously DVD was the fastest selling product in the TWF's history and débuted at #1 on the DVD Charts upon release. The company was taken aback by the sales of the DVD and there are now plans for a series of similarly titled DVDs surrounding events in the company's history. There is a DVD on Marz's ownership that will be in production in January 2010 and the company is planning to remaster some 2000 footage and release a TWF: The Early Days package. Expect many, many more DVDs to be released in the future as the company looks make the use of it's video library.
• The XWF DVD is already gaining notoriety backstage due to some comments made about BIG's ownership of the company. Some comments were especially strong regarding what many consider it's "mismanagement" of the company, despite the growing viewing figures and the company's ability to sell-out the Millennium Stadium in 2002 for a TV Taping. Biggie wasn't aware of many of the comments until post-production but left the documentary unchanged and said "the fans will decide whether they thought I did a good job or not".
• Lewis Kingston has fit in very well backstage and has taken on a role of backstage leader already. Kingston is a veteran who was part of the Welsh wrestling scene in it's infancy and was already a well-known figure backstage before he was signed into PCW. Kingston has already stated that he wants to work with Mr. BIG as the two are close friends, as well as a program with NJS at some point in the future.
• There is still no news on a possible High Voltage appearance at PayBack. Mr. BIG asked Blade about his brother a few weeks ago and Blade didn't answer him, suggesting of a rift between the two brothers. Biggie's attempts at contacting Voltage have also been in vain, with some suggesting that Voltage still harbours a grudge for the way the two's friendship was ended back in 2005. HV and Hawke are arguably the two biggest stars of the TWF prior to the rebirth yet to make an appearance in the ring. Hawke has also severed ties with the company in the past few months, largely attacking the TWF's current direction when asked about it in interviews.
• Holly made an appearance at the November 27 Fury and was simply visiting friends backstage. Her movie career appears to have stalled, hence her cameo in the RWF earlier this year. When she was asked by one of my sources about her time with Mr. BIG, she quickly tried to change the topic onto her new movie roles. She will start filming on two new films in January 2010 which will be due for release later on in the year.

• Mr. BIG's confirmation that he and Sophie have parted ways was the #1 trending topic on Twitter and to his surprise, many people took his side of proceedings, despite his own YouTube address about the situation. The two split over the weekend and Sophie made her presence felt at the X-Factor tapings in London and was seen chatting up one of the contestants, which quickly found it's way to the red-tops, who typically over exaggerated and then prompted headlines of "Biggie vs. X-Factor Contestant". Aaron Hill, who typically opposes everything Biggie tweets, was surprisingly supportive to Biggie about the matter.
• The feeling backstage however is that this could be a blessing in disguise as they feel Biggie's career has been at it's strongest without a manager. Biggie reportedly said at the pre-Grit BasH meeting earlier: "If I ever have another manager, you have the right to hit me". Sophie is not expected to return to the TWF in any capacity after her trial which is this week.
• Marz and Aaron Hill have had a series of massive disagreements backstage over the direction of the storyline between the Foals and the Metal Militia. The two have argued constantly over the finale to the program, with Hill suggesting that the younger talent goes over clean, whilst Marz reckons a blow-off in a gimmick match would be a more fitting conclusion. The personal shots at each other have been unplanned in the promos and drawn the ire of many backstage.
• Negotiations over having Kiss play at PayBack broke down with money being the issue. Slayer are now confirmed to be providing the theme song for the event and were contacted about performing the theme song at the event, but the band have recently cancelled dates with Megadeth in Canada due to lead vocalist Tom Araya under going surgery. The TWF has now confirmed that the Lostprophets will perform at Dangerously Serious by the way of a replacement.
• The Bandit has been tweeting about the TWF and XWF this week. Bandit has been seen around TWF Towers and he posted some pictures of him inside the TWF's television studios where he announced he was filming an interview for the new "The Story of… the XWF". Bandit has apparently also reached an agreement to sell the XWF video library to the TWF. Bandit said that he had very little use for it and he expects the TWF to handle the library "very well. I trust Biggie because he holds the XWF very dear to his heart". The TWF's pursuit of the former xWa promotions and their libraries has drawn criticism on the internet due to the WWE's own pursuit of former companies. The TWF have said that they plan to do a lot with the libraries over the next few years.
• High Voltage has been contacted about an appearance at PayBack, even if it was to put over his brother, but he has not got back to the company. Mr. BIG recently attempted to extend an olive branch to his former associate, but Voltage has so far refused to get back to him, possibly due to the way the duo's relationship ended in acrimonious circumstances in 2005.
• One of the storyline ideas that appeared to get many nods of approval in meetings this week was that a heel manager and duo will get married at No Way BacK next year. The speculated duo was Lucy Rose and NJS, although Alexis and Justin Polaris was another name mentioned. The TWF has not had a wedding take place on air since the famous King Nidian-Sammi marriage at Deadly MindGames in 2001. The marriage is likely to be a plot device in a major feud for 2010 as well.
• The Protégé was backstage at the October 21 Grit BasH visiting friends. The ever busy former TWF Television Champion took a rare break from his role as the sound technician for several big UK tours to drop by and speak to Mr. BIG about the past. Also backstage was Atomically Kool Kat, who accompanied her niece to the event, which drew much attention from the staffers, who were delighted to see her.
• The decision to take the TWF to the United States in 2010 was made two years ago and it will be the largest tour undertaken in the company's history. It will take in some cities the TWF has never toured and it is planned to take place in territories that the WWE traditionally called home. The company has already signed a deal to return to Madison Square Garden for the first time in nine years, which has got some inside the Stamford based company worried, particularly as there is a good chance the TWF's tour will be a complete sell out.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• Stephen Dimmock returned home from Afghanistan on Thursday and was immediately asked by Mr. BIG if he wanted to be present at No Holds Barred. Dimmock was initially apprehensive about appearing before his peers once more, but everyone was delighted. He was taken aback by his presentation of the TWF World Championship signed by all of the active roster and the TWF has also pledged a sum of money to go to a charity of his choice - likely to be Help for Heroes.
• Mr. BIG came down with a serious virus over the weekend and almost didn't make his match at No Holds Barred. He was cleared to wrestle just 30 minutes before the program went to air. In the event he couldn't work the match, he was going to be attacked backstage by the members of the Foals and be counted out of his match.
• Marz and Mr. BIG have decided to work the animosity many see between them into their feud with the Foals. Biggie thinks that the two's rocky relationship could play to their character strengths. Whilst Biggie was upset with Marz's promo a few weeks back, the two talked it over and all was well. Expect the Metal Militia to expand by a couple of members in the coming months as some backstage think the faction has serious potential.
• The idea of turning Hayley Holder face once more came up at a backstage meeting to get her to clean up her act. Her birthday party was held after Fury and over the weekend she made a promise to being one of the best managers in the industry. Interestingly, Holder is one of the longest tenured employees of the company, working with very few times off since 2001.
• The hope of having Holder getting dumped by Eric Herrera is that it gets him further over as a heel. Since his return from injury, he has unable to get as over as he would like with the crowd, perhaps because he has a popular TWF figure as a manager. Now he has shed this, he seems ready to live up to his potential. Herrera is highly-rated and is capable of big things and this is the hope.
• The TWF is negotiating to bring in the iconic American rock band, Kiss, to play at PayBack in support of their newest album, Sonic Boom. Kiss famously appeared on WCW Monday Nitro where they performed a 3-song set during the show. The band would only expected to perform the new single/pay‐per‐view theme and may interact with a wrestler or two should they appear. As usual with affairs regarding Gene Simmons, the price appears to be the point that is requiring the most negotiation, but both sides are confident of an agreement.
• With the news that The Shott will be returning to the company in 2010, rumours have begun circulating that the Triad/Rat Pack stable could reform, with Frekishi, Marz and The Shott under contract at this time. Hawke has not been contacted for a return and his last known whereabouts are unknown, leaving this in doubt. The Shott will apparently work the main event and add to the scene in early 2010 whilst the TWF continues to build up new stars.
• There was a rumour floating around that Hades could return to the company very soon. This is unlikely. Since departing the company last year, Hades has focused his attention on bodybuilding. One source said "If he came back, there would be serious questions asked about the drug testing policy due to the rampant nature of their use in bodybuilding circles". Hades remains close to many of his peers and has said he would like to return in the future - a natural program would occur against Titan, his manager Owen Carl's newest protégé.
• ITV are in negotiations for Mr. BIG to bring The Last Word back to the network over Christmas. The troubled television station is desperate for advertising money and they sense that Mr. BIG and his show would pull that in. Although only a 6 week run on the show would be aired, there could be an option for 10 or 12, with the show airing weekly for an hour on Tuesday nights at 11. This will depend on whether Biggie wants to go back to the network that seemingly dropped him in 2007.
• With WWE reforming some of their pay‐per‐view names, some online websites are stating that the TWF is thinking of doing the same. A marketing insider told me "since 2004, we have rotated the names of at least 3 events a year, whilst maintaining strong brands for the other 9. The rotation policy is likely to continue for the near future, but don't expect the other 9 to change". My source tells me that the TWF has sent out material to advertisers regarding the company's "Big Five" shows: No Way BacK, Easter HeAT, Summer Break, Halloween Hell and Dangerously Serious.
• The TWF has just taken on a new set of production staff. This was largely done to bring in some fresh ideas to the department. The production department is so well-run it actually has some money left that it plans to "blow" on ideas for the final three pay‐per‐views of the year.
• A reader has asked me to comment on the status of the TWF's latest referee, Carley Rae. My sources tell me she has fit in very well and Sophie Matravers, as expected, has taken her under her wing. Rae has shown a real willingness to learn and is picking up the little things that make the TWF special very quickly. The TWF is looking to expand the refereeing roster once more in the near future, although who will join the full-time crew in the future is a mystery.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• There was serious talk that the tag team duo of Marz and Mr. BIG could split very shortly. Marz apparently had a big argument with people backstage on Friday regarding plans for the team, as he feels he has been pushed into the secondary with Mr. BIG in a feud with Aaron Hill. Marz's promo on Fury reminded many backstage of the "old, nasty, manipulative" Marz, bringing up his old references to Biggie, which he was not very happy with (when the two buried the hatchet about two years ago, both men agreed to drop their previous references to each other). Although the air has currently settled, this could rise back up to the fore-front in the future, so keep an eye on it.
• What the conversation did lead onto backstage at Grit BasH last night was the potential for the Tag-Team Championships. Many wrestlers felt that if the two egos could not co-exist, Disturbed and Zero would get their re-match (which is being saved for next year in a major match and feud) earlier than planned. One well placed source said "it's more likely that both men would pick a replacement partner, have them semi-main Dangerously Serious and the winning team keeps the belts". The source also said that High Voltage and The Terminator had been contacted as fore filling these roles.
• The rumour sites are right, the TWF has opened negotiations with a former TWF World Champion to make their return. Despite people stating that activity levels of The Bandit had increased lately (he is currently helping out JT Money, who has started a band), The Shott is the man in question. He made an appearance at the post-Nowhere to Run party in Bridgend town centre with much of the talent and he told many, Marz and NJS in particular, he planned to return in 2010.
• Expect much more to be made of how Aaron Hill and Frekishi worked out the finish to the Hell in a Cell match. Ironically enough, it was a suggestion from Mr. BIG that they use the current controversy surrounding the Harlequins rugby union team as a way of re-introducing Frekishi whilst not messing up the stipulations. Much of the roster were happy with the finish to the match, with one wrestler stating "we need new kinds of finishes like this to keep interest levels high - and when that happens, ratings go up, which is always good news".
• Sophie will not return to television until her trial has begun. She was bailed and asked to return for trial in mid-November on charges of common assault, dropped from GBH. Mr. BIG, in his appearance on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on Friday, stated he felt that Sophie will be exonerated in a court of law. He is desperate to find the CCTV footage from the nightclub in question, which has allegedly disappeared, although a very strong rumour is that it is in the hands of a particular tabloid newspaper who want to hold out for it, although now this news has come about, expect some serious pace to pick up in the next week or so as Mr. BIG will post an injunction against the newspaper to get a hold of the tape and hand it over to authorities. In-between all of this, Biggie is not happy with Sophie attempting to keep a high profile, where as he (and her lawyers), state a low profile is paramount for the case.
• Hayley Holder could be on her way out of the company. A tabloid favourite for a frequent paparazzi pictures of her stumbling out of nightclubs and smoking cigarettes, she has been told by road agents to clean up her act, as he contract comes up for renewal in the next month or so. In any event, don't expect her to stay with Eric Herrera long. One major critic backstage felt that putting the two together for so long was a bad idea, as Herrera has a natural charisma very few have, and didn't been Holder to carry an interview or promo for him. Should she stay, she could end up working as a manager for a midcard face, similar to her very successful role as the manager of Stephen Jenkins.
• Some wrestlers backstage have begun to make a reputation for moaning when things do not go their way. Several young and experienced superstars quickly judge the higher-ups due to the fact that their roles on the show are not what they expected. This was addressed in the pre-show meeting with talent on Wednesday by Mr. BIG who told everyone "you have a problem about the way we do things? You make it known the way everyone else has - you kick and stamp your feet and get our attention and we will always do something about it, at-least in the long-term". This appeared to raise morale, as it was later the impetus for a rousing speech from the CEO about "the olden days", which many young wrestlers are particularly excited to hear about, whilst older talent flick their heads back and smile, often muttering "here he goes again".
• Dangerously Serious has had the capacity reduced to 90,000. The reasoning for this is that, whilst Dangerously Serious is still a top-tier pay‐per‐view event, the company only wants the attendance record to be broken at Summer Break events.
• The TWF will finalize the venue for Summer Break XI over the next few weeks, with an expected announcement at Dangerously Serious, as is custom. The tentative plan is for the event to return to Wales, with leading contenders including the Bridgend Recreation Centre, Brackla Community Centre and TWF Arena. Broadlands Arena and the nearby Sickness Stadium are also in with a good opportunity, whilst the Bridgend Dome is not expected to host the event for another year or so. The plan is to then take Summer Break XII to North America, with Summer Break XIII back in south Wales, the Millennium Stadium looking favourite for that particular event.
• A reader has asked me about the status of the Devil's Den match. Expect the match to take the event of the House of Pain as the second-half of the year gimmick match de jure. There is serious consideration being given to holding a House of Pain match at Summer Break next year, which is why the TWF is looking at arenas again as opposed to stadiums.

• Mr. BIG was due to open both Grit BasH and FURY this week with addresses to fans, but, he has had what can best be described as a week from hell. On Wednesday, he left the show hours before the start due to a family emergency. Blade addressing NJS replaced this portion of the show. The segment was then due to open FURY, but he was absent from the show due to the assault charge levied against his manager and girlfriend Sophie. She was in a Bridgend night club on Thursday night and is alleged to have hit a young girl after spilling a drink. Biggie offered her support and as a result he had very little input on FURY, which explains why Aaron Hill & Hulmes were allowed to personally attack his situation. Biggie was not happy with the segment, but will reportedly be present on Wednesday to address the situation.
• Many backstage were delighted with how Summer Break went down, and were particularly happy with the reactions of two title changes in particular - the World and Intercontinental Championships. Internet speculation was that the TWF would go for some kind of dusty finish to prevent Blade losing his Summer Break losing record and NJS retaining the title, but NJS insisted that Blade be allowed to attain victory cleanly. People were delighted that Blade finally got recognition for all of the hard work he has put in over the years for the company and deserves his chance. Tobias Granville has also impressed in very opportunity given to him so far, with an eventual title run decided when he received his ovation for his entrance in the Time Crisis match.
• Some are concerned, however, that Blade may not be TWF World Champion long. My sources tell me that some in the booking team do not see Blade having the drawing power of someone like NJS, Mastermind or The Assassin, who have proven capable of being champion in the past. Blade's perceived lack of charisma is also an issue, as many feel he will not be able to draw in fans based on his wrestling ability alone, which many say proved the undoing of Jean Claude Van Slam's title reign. In other Blade news, he invited his brother High Voltage to be backstage to watch Summer Break, but HV did not return his calls. I understand that HV returned from a year in exile in France on Thursday where he was blissfully unaware of everything, getting engaged to a French lady before calling off the marriage.
• The only people who knew Mr. BIG would return were the people involved in his match. Biggie has since stated that after a come back at No Way BacK was cancelled, this was to be the best stage for his return. He has said the Biggie/NJS dream match will happen in the next couple of years. Disturbed and Zero were delighted with the way that the match went down and Marz specifically told them backstage afterword that he thinks the match will prove a bigger rub for them than the tag team. Biggie's return was the #1 trending topic on Twitter on Sunday through Monday, and many fans were delighted that Biggie returned having lost so much weight and looking in incredible shape. BIG is expecting to grow his beard too, at least for the time being.
• Marz and Mr. BIG are expected to team under the Metal Militia name as opposed to the FX or Z-Pack name that some people have speculated. The two felt that their alliance in the Militia two years ago was not expanded upon and feels that the faction could fare well in inevitable wars with the Entourage and other new factions.
• New referee Carley Rae is a young female referee called up to back up Sophie Matravers. She made her début in the Lumberjill match as one of the match officials on the outside of the ring. Despite being only 19, she worked independent dates in the United States from the age of 16 and simply sent a DVD of her matches into TWF officials, where they were impressed and wanted to bring in another female referee. Matravers has taken Rae under her wing and has promised to coach her. Rae's eventual ambition is to referee the main event at Summer Break.
• I understand that a former TWF World Champion will be making a return to the company in September. The timing of High Voltage's return from France has many believing he will return to feud once more with Biggie and Marz, but other names such as The Shott, Frekishi, The AshTaker and AJ Jeffers have been mentioned as they have been seen meeting with TWF staffers in and around Bridgend in the past few weeks.
• Another man who allegedly has been in talks to make a return is Big Martin. He too has spent a summer away, but in his case, he was working in France but came back looking thinner and with an impressive beard. He remains interested for a possible return to the company, but has said that it would be in 2010 at the earliest, as he has plans for the rest of 2009 with his new role.
• Deadman has opted not to renew his contract, which expired at Summer Break. He has decided to take a sabbatical and look after his wife, Ms. Sweet, and their young child. Deadman was saying his goodbyes to everyone backstage at Summer Break, which meant at the post show party in an exclusive London night spot, he got extremely drunk with the wrestlers one last time. J-Fox and Ron Lindberg also worked their last dates for the company. Fox is expected to concentrate on other endeavours, whilst Lindberg has apparently auditioned for the vacant vocalist slot in the band Pennywise, from whom he took his surname.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• The London tour is going extremely well for the TWF. All of the dates are sell-outs and the TWF is getting much mainstream press. There is a rumour that to promote an upcoming episode of his new television series for Sky One (the home of Grit BasH), JLC is Justin Lee Collins may appear in the ring at Summer Break. The first show of the series sees the presenter attempting to be a lucha-libre wrestler, and both the TWF and Sky see it as perfect promotion. Collins is yet to agree to it, but it is likely he will, as he was already attending Summer Break X in any event.
• The TWF has begun to pursue more video libraries. The company owns all of it's own footage as well as that of the PWC development company. The company bought the rights to TECW/NCW in late 2008, and own the RWF library from Mr. BIG's ownership. Mr. BIG wants to acquire the full XWF video library before the end of the year, as well as the missing pieces of the RWF library, which looks very likely as High Voltage (who owns it) would like to get rid of it. The TWF wants to use the libraries to produce new DVDs telling the stories of each promotion, as well as use them for various home videos when the company kick-starts the division shortly, releasing material outside of it's pay‐per‐view/special event offerings.
• Mr. Edwards will be making a return to the TWF. Edwards has been seen training with his brother, Mr. BIG, in recent weeks and is said to look in great shape. He remains unlikely to wrestle again, such are the complications from his back and shoulder surgery, but wants to keep fit in a way to have a good appearance when he returns. He will make the presentation of the Chairman's Cup to the winner of the Battle Royal at Summer Break X.
• Mr. BIG has lost upwards of 40 lbs in the past few months, leading many to believe his goal of being back in the TWF before the year's end is achievable. He has grown a beard and grown out his hair, a look he has told people he would like to keep when he eventually returns. Expect a return around October/November is the plan.
• BIG's relationship with Sophie has apparently hit a rocky patch. BIG is growing increasingly worried over Sophie's behaviour, especially as she is a well-known face in the Bridgend nightclub scene, and Biggie's reluctance to pick her up from venues at "crazy hours" in the morning. Both are happy in the relationship, but one of my sources says it will simply be a matter of who breaks first to see how it all ends.
• NJS's book is coming along "quite nicely", according to sources. The initial manuscript was handed to a few people this week and they were very impressed, citing that the depth would make it better than Mr. BIG's book. The book will cover his early years, his start in the TWF, the trials and tribulations of XCW as well as his hiatus, and is likely to end with his second return to the company at Collision Course last year.
• Aaron Hill has been on his best behaviour backstage lately, which has come as a huge surprise to many. Hill is accepting his current position on the card and has shown willingness to work very hard to achieve higher goals. Initially, he was only brought in to work a few programs before Christmas, but chances are he could be around for longer as a result of this.
• Sevendust have been confirmed as performing Justin Polaris and NJS's theme songs at Summer Break. The band, who have had a long association with wrestling, will be there to promote their latest tour. No other artists are expected to perform theme songs, although I understand that X-Factor runners-up and recent chart-toppers JLS have been invited to perform the English national anthem. No word yet on whether the Welsh anthem will be sung, due to the intense rivalry between the two countries in sporting matters.
• The TWF will announce a new sponsorship deal with Research in Motion, the company behind the successful line of Blackberry phones. The company will offer a special TWF application in their store that will feature the ability to download TWF podcasts to their handset, view TWF superstar bios and much more. An iPhone application is said to be in the works, but will take longer as a result of an exclusivity deal. The press conference is set for Tuesday morning in London with some TWF superstars present.
• At that press conference, the sequel to the TWF's ultra-successful video game Power and Glory will be dated and priced. The title of the game will be TWF Unleashed and will feature all superstars that were active at Easter HeAT on the roster. The company plans to DLC new sets and attires through an in-game shop, as well as bonus packs for the companies the TWF may acquire. The developers were quick to mention that there are plenty of surprises in the game, including a few TWF legends thrown in for good measure.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: July 04, 2009

• The RWF's return was not as well received as many initially thought. Many were disappointed that it featured heavily former TWF stars and practically none of it's own stars on it's first show back. Mr. BIG intends to carry on with his initial plans. He was asked what would happen if worst comes to worst and he said "merger". Which presumably means that the titles would be unified with TWF titles. But, we will wait and see.
• Due to this and many other reasons, Mr. BIG has been very introspective lately and hasn't been backstage at a TWF show since late-May. Biggie's battle to return to the ring has almost consumed him as well as his TWF duties which have seen him clock up air miles lately. With no travel companion on many of his journeys, Biggie has become a lonely figure. Some people backstage are doubting whether he will even return in the coming months.
• NJS has also cut into a lonely figure backstage too. NJS is incredibly hard at work on his first book, which will sum up his career until his TWF return at Collision Course last year. He has been getting help from Biggie surrounding the book, which is due out in-time for Christmas. NJS has told close friends that he will not hold back on his thoughts regarding ex-wife Lita and ex-girlfriend Louise, as well as XCW's demise. No title is yet announced for the book.
• Aaron Hill's return this Friday came as a surprise to a few seeing as many expected him to become PCW Champion just a few weeks ago. Hill is expected to enter a main event program just after Summer Break that will also involve Hulmes. At the moment, it appears that Mastermind will work the initial part of the feud. Hill has impressed many with a thinner look however, he has lost upwards of two stone since his last TWF appearance.
• Synsyter Youth and Technically Superior's feud is winning over some fans backstage and in the crowds. The two teams have had many matches lately and many feel that they have saved the TWF's tag team division from heading the way of many promotion's lately. I have been told that after Summer Break there will be some new teams being formed that could provide some interest to the division, including the highly rated NC-17 and Partners in Crime tag teams that have been feuding in PWC.
• TWF fans in London have been e-mailing me lately with news of various billboards advertising Summer Break appearing throughout the city. The tag line being used is simply "London Calling", although one recent e-mailer sent me a photo of a different poster featuring NJS with the phrase "There will be carnage in the capital… " - the company is looking for a bigger celebrity presence at the show than previous Summer Breaks simply due to the fact that the event is in one of the world's preeminent arenas in one of the world's most famous cities.
• As part of the TWF's promotion for Summer Break, the highly awaited FHM magazine cover featuring Hayley Holder, Jessica Roberts, Lucy Rose, Mary-Anne and Ruby Cortez will be released in July. Those at the magazine hope that it will be one of their highest sellers in years. The TWF will be using it as a litmus test for a magazine. There were plans back in 2001 for a magazine to be launched, with a cover featuring Marz being promoted. In early 2002, a new magazine was advertised with Mr. BIG on the cover but it was never released. The company would probably issue it quarterly and with a special edition occasionally.
• The TWF is openly embracing Twitter. Many of the superstars in the company are updating their own feeds regularly, with popular profiles including those of Kaysie Anderson, Mr. BIG, NJS, Aaron Hill, Hulmes and The Assassin. The TWF continues to update it's YouTube channel with new videos on a daily basis. There is no word yet whether the company will set-up it's own social networking site for fans ala WWE Universe, but the TWF has fan pages and groups on all of the major social networks and a dedicated online team committed to updating them on a daily basis.
