THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: December 28, 2012

• The rest of this report was filed on December 24, but I would just like to add my condolances to the family of "Lover Boy" Jon Bennetta, who passed away earlier today. A true gentleman and a real hero, it was said that absolutely no-one in the locker room had a bad word to say about him, a real testament to his character. He is already sorely missed.
• The reaction to the finish to the Eve of Destruction match was interesting to say the very least. Many backstage are convinced that the finish was screwed up in some form and that the TWF will explain itself over the week. There are others, however, who feel that the change to an eVo show is a stunt that will bring in more viewers. However, the Death of WCW metaphor got bandied around the locker room on Friday night quite a lot after the match, with some sensing that if this a repeat of the nWo Nitro angle, the company could be in dire straits.
• The Friday event instead of Sunday worked well for the wrestlers, allowing them and many members of the TWF crew to be on their vacations by the time this report is dispatched. But, higher-ups within the company are fearing another slating when it comes to the pay‐per‐view buy rate. The overwhelming feeling was that the Wednesday/Friday experiment was worth trying, but it might have cost the company money in the short-term. Internally there is already speculation that people are blaming Mr. BIG's leadership for the moves, but, these moves were finalised before Mr. BIG regained control of the TWF pencils.
• Marz made a surprise appearance backstage at the December 14 episode of Fury and was received well. Marz was in the area and simply dropped by. Interestingly, the show was nearer to NJS's new home and some whispered that he could make an appearance, but to no avail.
• An incredible rumour made it's way around the locker room two weeks ago that PCW had made an audacious bid at signing Sophie to appear at it's December event and second the opponent of Ryan Jenkins, then leading into a feud against Jenkins and Siân. The incredible part was that apparently Sophie considered the offer until she realised why she was wanted in PCW in the first place. Many within that organisation feel that baiting Mr. BIG is the easiest way to get him to make a reappearance, but despite Sophie being friends with Jenkins going back some years, she apparently is still loyal to Biggie.
• For the first time in many years, there is not expected to be any new faces on the TWF roster going into 2013. Some people in PWC have criticised the company's recent way of introducing the PWC contingent, feeling that they don't get much time to make an initial impression on the audience before "falling back into the formulaic midcard matches". The lack of new PWC talent is not a slight on the current crop of PWC talent, which includes some "can't miss" prospects, but the company wants to resolve current storylines before they introduce new talent.
• One of my sources tells me that the TWF is very close to bringing back the Hall of Fame, but instead of making it a permanent part of the Summer Break weekend, staggering induction classes so that they always happen with a Bridgend Dome or TWF Arena pay‐per‐view. It was pointed out to several people that with the rumoured stacked class of next inductees, there would be no worthy inductees eligible for a little while, meaning that some unworthy inductees will be honoured. The other thinking is that inductions are done on a biannual basis during the Summer Break weekend.
• Blade said in a podcast interview this week that should the TWF begin readmitting people into it's Hall of Fame, he would be excited to get a call. The former World Champion stated that he would naturally like his brother High Voltage to make his induction speech, should he get to choose who makes the speech. Blade said that his career highlight was his run as World Champion and when asked if he would return to make a shot at being a Full House winner (he is an IC title win away from joining the elusive club), Blade said it does not interest him, at least at the moment.
• Old-timers update: Louise has been posting tweets regarding her new baby boy… Frekishi's race engineering career gets better and better, and he received a nice bonus for working on a championship winning car… The Bandit is setting up a series of pizza joints in the Illinois area with the help of a new girlfriend… JT Money is taking time out travelling with his girlfriend before returning to his musical career…
• Injury report: Mr. BIG was signed off to begin rehabbing his injuries this week, and is looking to be returning by June, ready for Summer Break… Kaitlin Simmons's rehab is going very well and early February is still a reasonable target for her return… Stephen Jenkins will complete a short stint at PWC (at his own request) before returning to the main roster some time in January.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: December 3, 2012

• One of the former members of the TWF creative team has begun sounding off on Twitter about ditched and planned storylines. The writer claims that the eVo storyline is going to lead to the one thing the TWF has said it will never do - a brand split. My source inside the company tells me that the eVo storyline was originally pitched as an nWo-like angle (hence the spelling and library music), but has since been turned into something different. Remember a few years ago that plan Mr. BIG had to split the company into two? Into the Extreme World Championship and the Evolved World Championship? Well, that's apparently what the eVo angle will lead to. The reason for all of this is that the TWF feels that with an expanded roster and a hard brand split, it could make more money than the alternative of slimming down the roster and perhaps changing the format of the TV shows.
• On a related note, the schedule for the early part of 2013 has been floating around and there are a few interesting points. Besides the established news that the TWF will be dropping two pay‐per‐views, there are some open dates that are leading many to believe that the TWF could start up house shows once more. The last time the company did House Shows was back in 2009 as part of the Australian tour. The idea is that Fury would be taped on Thursday, with two house shows on Friday and Saturday. Talent are openly against this, as the lesser dates are part of what makes the TWF more appealing. "Careers are longer because of the less gruelling schedule here. More shows are likely to mean more risk, and it's just a bad idea all round", one major talent told my source.
• Tara Wilson's victory for the Women's Championship has rubbed many people up the wrong way. Wilson was dubbed the first "WWE-type" hire for the company of an attractive model who had no wrestling experience prior to joining the company (Wilson admitted that she didn't follow pro wrestling at all when she was younger), and they fear her success could lead to the company moving away from the talented individuals that are currently in the division "to a line-up of bimbos and airheads", my source told me. Personally, nobody has anything to fear, as the company is committed to a strong Women's division and Wilson was hired because of her incredible look and acting skills. The plan at the moment is for the division to focus around Wilson and her current bodyguard, Nightshade, for the time being, although a big match with a returning Kaitlin Simmons is expected.
• The current plan for Summer Break XIV is for the FanFest to be held within the Bridgend Dome itself and within the TWF Hall of Fame buildings in the build-up to the event. The "Live" edition of Fury prior to Summer Break received a good response so it's likely to continue. Booking the pre-SB Fury was always considered a nightmare as talent never gave 100% as a precautionary measure. There is a strong chance that the TWF will reintroduce the Hall of Fame this year, with Blade, The AshTaker and Team EV looking likely to be those inducted.
• I usually don't take any notice of fantasy booking, but I was handed an interesting scenario regarding a return for NJS to the company. When casually discussing him with a source, I was told that the chance of him returning to the company in any form is "the most unlikely of anyone since Marz founded TECW". Whilst NJS insists that his marriage to Lucy Rose is going swimmingly, those who were close to him backstage feel that she made NJS retire and join the rat race for her, despite the fact that when the duo first got together, they were determined to be in the company for the long run. What made Lucy Rose change her mind is the subject of much discussion backstage, especially considering her name being mentioned causes several usually easy-going members of the TWF backstage team to suddenly get a little hot under the collar.
• The "bonus match" at Dangerously Serious got a great reaction backstage and there is a feeling that the Sin Nombre/Joseph Helms tandem could team up more frequently in the future. The duo were put together after The Assassin reckoned that they could work very well together. One road agent noted that the two initially seemed uncooperative and had a misunderstanding over the language barrier (Nombre's English is improving, but his frequent spoonerisms make for great locker room giggles), but the match just clicked.
• The Partners in Crime could potentially make a return to the TWF, a source has told me. Vinnie Maralini's whereabouts at the moment are unknown, but it is speculated that he is still in a rehab facility. Bruno Castellano, out of loyalty to his long-time tag team partner, has not wrestled, but is keeping tabs on a potential return opportunity.
• Injury updates: Kaitlin Simmons's recovery from shoulder surgery is going as well as expected and she could be back as early as February as she has already become rehabbing the injury. Mr. BIG is hopeful to get signed off to start rehab this week - his recovery will take longer as a result of the multiple injuries he suffered prior to the shoulder surgery. Stephen Jenkins is due back soon from a knee injury, but Jenkins has apparently been asked to do a PWC TV Taping before rejoining the main roster, to ensure he is back to full fitness.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: November 13, 2012

• There has been a massive backstage change made in the last week or so. Mr. BIG returned backstage last Wednesday and revealed that as he was no longer a member of the active roster due to his injuries, he was now able to be "impartial" on the booking committee. With that in mind, he petitioned the board of directors to get his veto back, which to his surprise, he received. As a result, three members of the writing team walked out there and then (handing in their notices shortly afterwards). BIG then revealed that he was inviting the three most experienced talents on the roster (Assassin, Mastermind and Rick Majors) onto the team to add their own ideas. When this news reached some members of the roster, there was some serious resentment, but when BIG called a meeting of all talent before the show, he revealed that the three men chosen were there to help younger guys get over.
• With that being said, Mr. BIG devised the finish to the #1 Contender's Battle Royal with Mastermind and The Assassin. One source put it to me that "BIG feels those two guys can carry the load whilst they figure out who the new guy to lead the company is". BIG has told many that his focus will be correcting his plans for the eVo storyline, which he feels were "nearly ruined" at one point, and has already got major plans to finally get the angle over. By Friday, there was a positive mood among talent that a refocused show will lead to the company growing overall.
• The positive mood was, however, not taken by all. One prominent midcarder noted that he had recently reread "The Death of WCW" book and noted that he is beginning to see some eerie parallels between sections of the book and the current state of the TWF. Another prominent midcarder stated "we know that BIG is a great booker and all, but we all fear getting lost in the shuffle behind one of his guys". The talent are all behind Biggie and know that he is the most likely to be the one to help the company reach higher once more, but some will always doubt him.
• BIG holds no ill will towards Hansen for the injury, by the way. BIG's injury, as you would expect, forced a major rewrite of the TWF's plans for the next few months. BIG has stated that he will not return to TV unless he is able to wrestle. BIG has yet to begin the rehab process for his injuries, but he is targeting a return date of No Way BacK next year, which is being held in the TWF Arena. BIG at one point wanted to complete his rehab in Los Angeles, but, decided against it. There is again speculation that BIG is dating former Playboy centrefold Jessica Burciaga, which would have been a significant reason to head out there, but, I understand that the two are just friends, despite frequently exchanging tweets and messages.
• On a related note, one noted celebrity magazine broke the news this week that Ryan Jenkins and Siân, who earlier this year broke off their engagement, have reunited. There is a rumour circulating that the two will return to PCW at their November event and pick-up where they left off. Don't worry, this time, they will stay in PCW, especially now Mr. BIG has control of the writer's pen.
• ITV executives have also been in contact with the TWF and my understanding is that the TWF will hold Saturday Night's Main Event shows on ITV on three occasions next year, usually in the months without a pay‐per‐view. ITV sources have told me that there is a long line of advertisers willing to pay serious money to advertise during the show, which I understand is the only way the show will draw a profit.
• The numbers for Halloween Hell do not look good and there is now a worry that the Eve of Destruction show - which is booked for Black Friday in December - will draw a lower buy rate than Halloween Hell. In the grand scheme of things, the Halloween Hell numbers I have seen are not the worst in the company's history, but will be the lowest of the year by a considerable margin. There is some speculation that the TWF is looking to go down to nine or even eight pay‐per‐views from 2014 and that despite Halloween Hell being considered one of the most prestigious shows, it could be consigned to history in the near future.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• The XCW event has received a mixed reception within the TWF, with initial numbers looking disappointing. Several reasons have been offered, namely holding the event on a Monday evening instead of a weekend. There is also a general feeling that the event would have been better served as a one-off pay‐per‐view rather than an xWn special. The atmosphere backstage was described as "pleasant", with many longtime friends and adversaries meeting up once more.
• NJS told those that asked him that he considered the match with AshTaker to be his "farewell" match. NJS recently did a rare interview where he stated that his biggest regret was not a match against Mr. BIG, but instead a Z-Pack vs. Sadist Nation bout, that was cancelled after NJS's injury in November 2003. Frekishi also considered his match with The Terminator a final match, especially given the condition of his well-operated knees. Deadman noted that his match with BIG was their first one-on-one meeting since the first edition of XCW Metal 10 years ago, but he too considers himself done with wrestling.
• Marz's architecture firm has finally started work on it's first major job and Marz's Twitter bio now reflects this, stating "Architect. Retired Former TWF World Champ.". Many people expected Marz to form a part of the blow-off bout between the TWF and eVo, representing the company's past. Marz still trains with Biggie every week, so is still in great shape, but his desire to wrestle is not his top priority.
• It looks like the format for Fury will remain the same for the time being. In a recent board meeting, Mr. BIG stated that a UK audience dedicates the same amount of time to the big two shows as they would a sporting event they follow or a soap opera, therefore changing the format of the show will make no difference. Audience research has also shown that the audiences for the TWF's premiere shows and highlights shows do differ, so BIG has instead decided to concentrate on maximising both formats that way.
• With the Olympic Stadium row continuing, the TWF will announce at Dangerously Serious that Summer Break XIV will take place in the Bridgend Dome as originally planned. Coincidentally, the preliminary events calendar for 2013 lists Total Chaos being held at The Copper Box on the Olympic site, providing parallels to how the Bridgend Dome hosted it's first Summer Break 10 years ago. The plan to hold Summer Break XV at the TWF Arena remains, especially now that many of the planned participants in the "Generations Collide" idea are moving away from wrestling and would not be able to commit to the event and preceding events.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• There is a feeling that the eVo storyline has become a huge bust in the eyes of the fans and that the conclusion of the angle is drawing near. At one point last week, there was an open discussion about Mr. BIG being revealed as the one who re-hired Majors to ensure that "he got his company back", but this was quickly shot down.
• A reader asked me about the current situation with the creative/writing team. When the company returned in 2007, any ideas were put to a vote, but Mr. BIG had the power of veto. Upon BIG's return to action, writers were able to convince the board of directors to get rid of BIG's veto, citing it as a conflict of interest, with ideas going through based on a majority. This is why some controversial storylines involving BIG have gone through (you know the one in particular I am talking about).
• The card for the XCW One Last Time show is close to being finalised and could be announced as early as next week. The TWF has decided it will promote matches during TWF programming. The xWn is already running promos for "XCW Month" in October, with a series of special programs before and after the event, such as an XCW's Most Xtreme Moments program that is being hosted by Mick Foley.
• The announcement for the Summer Break XIV venue is likely to take place at Dangerously Serious. My well-placed source tells me that the company has been stonewalled about using the new Olympic Stadium in London for the event, which means the original plan of hosting it in the Bridgend Dome to celebrate the venue's tenth anniversary remains likely. The "Generations Collide" idea has also gained some serious traction and the TWF is looking to possibly do that for Summer Break XV.
• More details surrounding the departure of the Partners in Crime have been revealed. The duo's contracts were up and they signalled to many that they wanted to return to the United States. However, the news of Maralini's drug test failure came as a surprise to everyone. The TWF has offered to send Maralini to rehab and that was the last anyone has heard from him. Castellano was devastated that his tag team partner kept his problems a secret and is concerned for his well-being. The success of the duo and the void that they leave is said to be the reason that Rocco Bellandini has been promoted to the main roster.
• Kaitlin Simmons is expected to be written out of the company for a few months as a result of an injury suffered in the Summer Break tag team match. Simmons hurt her shoulder and initially wanted to work through the injury, but after speaking to Mr. BIG about working with a busted shoulder, he advised that she get it checked and it was revealed to be more serious than first thought. Simmons will leave a big hole in the TWF Women's Division and some are concerned as to how the division will do without her.
• The plans for David Tissot's "Hollywood Dream" have not yet been revealed and the company is keeping it under wraps at the moment. Some felt that whilst Tissot is deserving of a rub, he would have been better served being in a highlighted match at Summer Break instead of being in a multi-man "spot-fest" as one road agent described it. Tissot, who has an idea of his own for what he would like to do, has told talent who have asked, that he plans to reveal all at PayBack in front of his home town fans. Tissot has not wrestled during the TWF's French stint as a result of his popularity with his countrymen.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: August 24, 2012

• Summer Break is already expected to rank as one of the top TWF pay‐per‐views of all-time according to preliminary figures I have seen. Besides being the highest attended PPV in TWF history (as well as North American wrestling history, a title the company was collectively elated to achieve), the gate receipts are expected to be the biggest in the history of the company, and with some buys to still come in, there is talk it could be the highest grossing TWF PPV too (in terms of buy rate). Understandably, the atmosphere backstage on Wednesday night was electric, with there being several handshakes among wrestlers and staff regarding the show.
• According to several wrestlers, the match order as late as Saturday night still listed the TWF World Championship as the main event, but was changed early on Sunday morning. Reaction to the match was that it was definitely worth waiting for, with Polaris and Majors already being told that the match is the greatest in TWF history. There is a story that the only person who greeted both men as they walked behind the curtain was Mr. BIG, who allegedly said "now you will get the questions of the greatest match of all-time instead of me".
• Mike Haggar and Nytro's match was also drawing some serious praise. Haggar and Nytro both asked Mr. BIG and The Assassin for their thoughts on the match up, and it was apparently their influence that has made the match a five-star classic. The success of the match surprised some members of management, but none of the talent, with both men being praised by the locker room.
• Patrick McCarthy is done with the company. I have heard that when the TWF flew it's talent out to California, McCarthy spent the latter half of the flight discussing his direction with several road agents and writers, who revealed that they had no plans for McCarthy at this time. McCarthy left the airport quickly and apparently caught a connecting flight back home and e-mailed his resignation to the front office. McCarthy was supposed to have a match with Byron Pryce, who then went down with a broken left arm which has left him out for a few weeks.
• Justin Polaris will be pushed as a face going forward. I caught sight of a roster depth chart floating around Grit BasH and it listed Polaris is the #4 babyface behind Mr. BIG, Mastermind and The Assassin. Polaris is said to be happy with the move as it freshens up his character (he has consistently been portrayed as a heel in his tenure), but there is already backlash to the move. One writer adamantly opposed the move, stating Polaris could have still worked as a heel despite not being a member of eVo. "Now he'll be lost in the shuffle, especially if guys like Tobi [Granville] continue to get increased air time".
• The TWF is currently unsure how to present the XCW reunion show. There are those voices within the company that want it to be promoted separately, but there are a few people who feel that an appearance from the eVo contingent would actually make sense on the show. The Bandit confirmed his involvement in the program this week, joining Mr. BIG and NJS (who will definitely wrestle on the show). Jim Ross and Michael Hayes are likely to announce the show, with Chris Leary and Helen Chamberlain likely to appear in some capacity as well. Frekishi, The AshTaker, The Celtic Warrior, Big Martin and The Unknown have all dropped hints that they would like to be a part of the show, but have yet to officially confirm yet.
• Just before I filed this report, I have received word that the Partners in Crime are also done with the TWF, but not for the reasons that are being reported. Whilst it is true that the duo's contracts were up and they chose not to renew, I understand that one member of the team failed a random drugs test, which has hastened their departure and would explain the uncharacteristic post-match antics at Summer Break XIII.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: August 5, 2012

• There is much debate over which match will close Summer Break. There are those that feel the third meeting of Rick Majors and Justin Polaris will be the best match on the card and should therefore go last, whilst others feel that the TWF World Championship match should go on last. No decision has been made as of yet, but there have been several indications that the Majors-Polaris will close the show. Given that the Mr. BIG-Bandit match at Summer Break XI was only confirmed to go on last on the Fury prior to the big one a few years ago, anything can change.
• As things stand, Megadeth will be the only act to perform at Summer Break. The TWF has attempted to contact Eric Turner's agent to allow "Angels and Stars" to be performed live as well, but this has not materialised. In related news, the event is already generating buzz among the Hollywood A-List, with several names being mentioned by wrestlers as attending the event.
• With the devastating news of the health of "Lover Boy" Jon Bennetta turning for the worse, there is an "awful" feeling among those that wrestled with and against him. Many people are already expecting the worst, but Mr. BIG is adamant that one of his oldest friends will survive "and kick it square in the balls". There is already talk of at least some of the profits to the XCW Home Video release coming up going to Bennetta to help cover his medical costs. Whilst Bennetta was among the smartest wrestlers when it came to money, many feel that it would be only human for Bennetta to receive some help at this tough time.
• Also being very positive about his best friend's issues is Frekishi, who has shown signs that he could perhaps wrestle one final match. The legendary big man has begun training with a heavily strapped knee and appears to be making good progress, and has seemingly suggested that an appearance at the rumoured XCW Reunion show later this year is a strong possibility.
• Hades participated in an interview this week that revealed that a possible return to the TWF is on the cards. Hades revealed that he has become "disenfranchised" with the bodybuilding circuit, despite some very impressive performances on his part. Hades recently ran into Mr. BIG by chance, and the two got talking. Hades told BIG that both WWE and TNA had reached out to him, but Hades would remain loyal to the company that started him.
• The announcement that the TWF is working on it's own iPad app is seen as being "long overdue". Whilst the current TWF app is considered a success, with the growing number of companies taking advantage of the iPad's size and power, the TWF felt it needed to make a move. The development team behind the iPhone app has also been taking on some more staff and is working on a refresh, which will coincide with the new app. The TWF is also looking to add it's own storefronts on the App Store, Google Play, BlackBerry App World and the Windows Phone platforms.
• Whilst Summer Break was confirmed internally to take place in the United Kingdom in 2013, a recent outline of forthcoming TWF events has been floating around where the venue has been changed from the Bridgend Dome to "TBA". My understanding is that the TWF has done away with the plan of holding the event in the Bridgend Dome to celebrate it's tenth anniversary and to instead push it back a year. With the current positive feeling regarding the Olympics in London, the TWF has apparently entered negotiations to hold Summer Break at the Olympic Stadium next year, although this would depend on who would own the stadium after the Olympics and Paralympics are over.
• The pay‐per‐view calendar will appear to be getting more changes in the coming year or so. Whilst the deal with Sky guarantees between eight and ten PPV events a year, the TWF has gone from leaning towards the larger number to the smaller number. With news that Halloween Hell will run on Halloween (a Wednesday this year), some see it as a test to see if the event itself could work as a Grit BasH special instead of a pay‐per‐view. There is also talk that the name Dangerously Serious could disappear once more, as well as Deadly MindGames, with possibly either or both Against All Odds or Total Chaos moving to different months.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: July 3, 2012

• The final card for this year's Summer Break now appears locked in stone. This is the latest point in many years that the card has been finalised, which is largely a result of injuries, departures and rewrites, which typically don't occur within a short time frame of each other, such as this year.
• With the card for this year's event now taking shape, there is already talk of the match ups for Summer Break XIV. One bout that has gained much talk in the realms of upper management would be a "passing of the torch" from Mr. BIG to Matt Aish. Aish has made no secret of his dislike at getting "shafted" last year and has apparently been punished for it ever since, and some wrestlers see this as a way to get Aish more actively involved in the company and prevent a jump to North America. Another match being talked about is a match between Disturbed and Zero.
• Despite the Tobias Granville/Victor Ortega storyline being arguably the hottest storyline in the TWF at the moment, there are plans for it's definitive conclusion to occur at Summer Break, which has disappointed many as they feel the story has some legs. It looks as though Granville will come out of the storyline as the loser, as one member of upper management is keen on pushing Ortega as a future World Champion, possibly before the year is over too.
• With many fans proclaiming that the eVo storyline is stuttering despite the return of Rick Majors to the fold, the TWF is not planning to change the direction of the story, which still has "many months to run". There are many disappointed faces within the TWF for the storyline however, which was promised to be "promotion altering", but due to injuries to key players, the focus not being on a major championship and the interest in the Granville/Ortega storyline, some fans regard it as a dud.
• I can confirm that both Marz and NJS were seen at TWF Towers this week. NJS was there to work on the forthcoming "The Story of XCW" home video. Marz's appearance has set many lips in motion, with some thinking that he could return to full-time action soon. There is a widely quoted story in the locker room that the eventual blow-off to the eVo feud will see an eVo team face "the past, present and future" of the TWF, with Marz making up one of the "past" members, along with Mr. BIG, Assassin, Matt Aish and Zack Daniels.
• Mr. Edwards has also been seen around TWF Towers and the Asylum gym a lot lately and naturally rumours surrounding his return to the company have surfaced. Contrary to popular belief, Edwards was never pitched as being the leader of eVo as everyone felt he would be "too obvious". Incidentally, Mr. Smooth was also considered for the role. Edwards has been advertised as appearing at the upcoming PWC Invitational event, likely in a non-wrestling capacity.
• Megadeth will be at Summer Break. It was confirmed by the band's iconic leader and lead guitarist, Dave Mustaine, in a webchat with members of Megadeth's fan club. Deth are expected to perform three songs during the show, much like their appearance at Summer Break VIII. The TWF is looking for another artist to appear, and are looking at a more mainstream pop artist to appear, with Katy Perry looking the most likely artist to appear. The TWF is looking to get some significant positive press for the event, and are looking at doing anything to increase the coverage of the company, even if it means a bad story or two appearing in the celebrity blogosphere.
• There are plans floating around the production offices of TWF Towers that see the TWF making changes to the design of the Grit BasH and Fury set. The dual set which was introduced earlier this year to reduce the costs of taking two sets of production equipment, has apparently proved more costly than first thought and there is talk that a redesigned will appear when the TWF heads to California for the pre-Summer Break dates.
• Although the TWF has reduced it's pay‐per‐view offerings to 10 next year, there is talk the company will reduce Fury down to one hour as part of plans to maximise it's TV offerings. Many feel that the "back to the future" model of an "A"-show featuring big match-ups, and a "B"-show set in a studio-like environment like WCW Saturday Night is the most sustainable way for the organisation to continue.
• One other theory is that the TWF repackages Meltdown in a similar fashion to it's do-over of WarZone/Overload in 2010. Meltdown would be treated as a real "B"-show and instead of showing one or two short matches a week along with highlights, would feature longer matches and maybe one or two key highlights from the TWF week. This idea seemed popular at a recent production team meeting and looks likely to go ahead, with the earliest possible implementation looking like being after the TWF's European Tour.
• The Shott resurfaced this week to announce that he and his wife had welcomed a daughter to join their son. Shott determined that he wanted to put expanding his family first over continuing his professional wrestling career and he is not expected to return anytime soon. In related news, Louise is also pregnant, carrying the child of her long-term partner.

• Two high profile names are done with the TWF. Hawke, whose feud with Sebastian Gross was supposed to continue onto Summer Break, worked his last match on Sunday after finally attaining a breakthrough acting role and deciding he would be better off there than remaining in the TWF. This has disappointed many backstage, who wanted Hawke to continue with the company as they felt he showed signs of being in better shape than at any point during his previous TWF tenure. There is also some concern that he was able to leave so quickly after returning, with one person backstage being very unhappy about the precedent it sets for other wrestlers.
• With his return to PCW at their SuperClash event last weekend, Ron Lindberg is also done with the TWF. Lindberg, who hadn't appeared on television in almost two months and hadn't wrestled on pay‐per‐view since February, returned to the organisation in his previous capacity as an on-air foil to Michael King at their announce desk. The reason given for his departure was apparently not made clear initially, but my well placed source tells me that Lindberg joins an exclusive list of talent who failed the TWF's drug policy. It is unclear as to what drugs that appeared on Lindberg's test, but the results were so clear cut apparently that even his ally (and reason he got re-hired), Mr. BIG, was said to have claimed "his ship has sailed now".
• Incidentally, it was reported this weekend that Ryan Jenkins has left PCW for good. Jenkins's relationship with Siân had finished and Jenkins was reported to be uncomfortable working around his one-time fiancée, so Jenkins has quit the company. When this news reached the TWF locker room, there were many smiles pointed at Mr. BIG's direction, with many remembering his "good-bye" promo from almost exactly a year ago and how incredibly true it has since rung.
• Mr. BIG managed to re injure the ring finger on his left hand during the match with Justin Polaris. His was the only injury reported after At All Costs. BIG and Polaris's match was highly acclaimed backstage and was deemed "worth the wait" by fans and wrestlers alike.
• The decision to continue to hold the event at the Brewery Field was made on Tuesday night, when the TWF was able to adjust the set and add a canopy to cover the grass on the field in time. If the company was unable to get the canopy, the event would have been moved, most likely to the TWF Arena as it was kept free. Many backstage were glad the event was held outdoors and in the drizzle as it added to the spectacle of the show.
• Initial reaction to the three-man announce team has been positive, with the chemistry between Smooth and Daniels, from their time together as hosts of Overload, there for all to see. The company plans to continue this arrangement at least until the eVo storyline concludes.
• It appears that the major twist to the eVo storyline will be revealed at Against All Odds. The twist has been kept very secretive and even those who know about it have apparently been told conflicting information to keep everyone guessing. One prevailing theory is that a member of the TWF Board will come out in support of eVo and give them even more power. There is also talk of an "eVo representative" acting in a Commissioner role. There are currently no plans to spin-off eVo into it's own promotion yet, but this has not been set in stone.
• Megadeth have been contacted to play Summer Break XIII, but have yet to get back to the company. The Los Angeles-formed thrash legends last performed at Summer Break VIII, incidentally also in-front of a crowd of over 100,000 people. The TWF is also considering adding a second musical act to perform, but that would depend on who would be available and the likelihood of them performing on more than one occasion during the show.
• There was a high profile event held at the Brewery Field on Saturday night featuring many current and former TWF talents. It was the first time that many of the TWF's core fan favourites had been seen together in a long time, including the "Holy Trinity" of Marz, Mr. BIG and NJS. Also there and looking in good shape, among others, were Frekishi (who is finally showing signs of recovering from the knee surgery that ended his career) and "Lover Boy" Jon Bennetta (who was also in better shape after his recent health troubles).

• Mr. BIG's bad run of luck injuries continues. He managed to break one of his left fingers during the Three Way match at Collision Course. Biggie did managed to ice it up quickly after the match and won't miss any in ring action for the time being. BIG noted on Twitter after the match that his use of the Love Gun taunt and Kiss of Death move was a shout out to his friend the Lover Boy, who is still recovering from a stint in hospital with some health complications. JB was scheduled to be one of the special guest referees last night but was replaced after word of his health decreasing got around.
• The eVo storyline will be kicked into high gear over the next couple of weeks, with there apparently plans for the big reveal at either At All Costs (a neat piece of happenstance given that the formation of Seek and Destroy was revealed at the same building) or at Against All Odds (where the eVo renegades engaged in their first beat down).
• With a lot of the special guest referees hanging around, the atmosphere at Collision Course was among the best at a TWF PPV in recent memory and initial look at both the attendance and buy rates seem to indicate that the pay‐per‐view could be a success. There are apparently plans for another "gimmicked" pay‐per‐view like this to take place in the future, possibly in December.
• Jessica Roberts is not said to be dating Victor Ortega out of the ring. Roberts was in a long-term relationship with John Harper, but given her "closeness" to Ortega in recent weeks, there are many backstage who are gossipping that the two have broken up. The Granville/Ortega storyline has been one of the big talking points backstage over the past week with everyone remarking how well constructed it was. The Avenger was never intended to be revealed as the one who perpetrated the deed, but was used to keep fans guessing as to the car driver's identity. Roberts's idea to dye her hair back blonde, reverting to her look when she managed Rob Green, was her own and she plans to "glam up her appearance" to get herself over better as a heel manager.
• Mr. Smooth is set to join the main announce desk as a third voice. The plan is for Daniels to act as a pro-eVo voice, Hudson to continue in the play‐by‐play role, and for Smooth to act as a pro-TWF analyst. There is also a strong feeling that Smooth is being tapped up to replace Hudson when he does eventually decide to return to the United States. However one of my sources sees things differently, stating that they feel adding Smooth will elbow him into a more active role and perhaps encourage Hudson to leave instead of Hudson giving Smoothy some tips in the role. If Smoothy does join the main announce team, it's expected that his duties on the B-Shows be divided between Bryn Tomos and Kyle Richards.
• The Fury prior to Summer Break will not be filmed an arena, but instead at TWF FanFest. The TWF decided against holding a major taping just days before Summer Break and has instead decided to hold a slightly longer Grit BasH taping, holding matches after the live show that will air on Fury, with a match or two coming live from a ring that will be set up at the event.
• The TWF has begun contacting former XCW wrestlers about an XCW reunion show to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the company's establishment. The TWF has decided to make the show it's late-year supercard, with many surprised that the company would not look to monetise the event by putting it on pay‐per‐view. The event will be held in the XCW Arena (which has an uncertain future after the event) in early October.

• With the TWF looking to change it's direction for 2013 by holding less pay‐per‐views, a discussion was held this week about the future of Fury. Grit BasH's status as the company's "A-Show" is under no doubt and some feel that Fury would work best under the format that the PWC schedule currently operates, of taping two consecutive shows in the same venue (likely the TWF Arena) every fortnight. The idea did get more nods of approval than this writer anticipated and it looks like it might get considered.
• When I first heard the above story, I thought the company was considering reworking Meltdown under a similar format, which looks more likely. In a previous report, I noted that Meltdown might turn more into a recap program. This appears to be the case. But there is a rumour that post-Halloween Hell, the company will expand the Asylum Arena to be used as the permanent base of Meltdown, using a WCW Saturday Night format to build up new talent and recap the week's events. This cross in sources might lead to two different stories and I will elaborate in my next dispatch.
• The decision to keep Mr. BIG off TV until last week was said to be at the request of Biggie himself, but one source was wishes to remain anonymous tells me that Mr. BIG had a serious legal issue that was close to going public this week but has since been overwhelmingly defeated. Added to his recent injuries, this put BIG under severe stress and was why his return to television was pushed back. Many people however feel it was for the good though, as it allowed Mike Haggar to build-up to the two's World Championship match, which was given rave reviews backstage.
• The word going around backstage is that Jack Beam's injuries from the Easter HeAT main event have led to a re-write of the eVo storyline. The storyline has come under criticism of late for lacking direction and focus, but since Beam's injury, there is a feeling that it could get back on track. Beam confirmed in an interview this week that he tore his ACL and will miss at least six months to recover, which has left him "devastated".
• Many people have been contacted about being involved in the Special Guest Referee gimmick for Collision Course, which is drawing some serious buzz. The company is desperate to keep some of the surprise names under wraps, but it is expected that Marz will referee one bout. One of the TWF's Chicago legends (The Bandit and JT Money) will also definitely be appearing, although which one and for what match is currently undecided.
• Open try‐outs at the Asylum are currently being discussed again. The company has not advertised any open try‐outs in some time, but it looks like the TWF will look to take on some exciting new prospects with a view to making them the future superstars. The TWF wants to capitalise on the success of Road to Glory and any potential interest in becoming a professional wrestler.
• There is still no official word from Sky as to a confirmed second season of Road to Glory, but with ratings looking good, it seems very likely. One idea floated recently was to make a future season a "second chance" season, allowing talent who "had a cup of coffee" in the TWF to gain the opportunity to return for a longer run.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider
Reported on: March 20, 2012

• The number of TWF pay‐per‐views in 2013 will be reduced to 10. The TWF has decided to abandon a January and December event and the provisional calendar sees Deadly MindGames taking place on the weekend of the NFL's Pro Bowl (which might lead to a clash with the Royal Rumble in some years), with Dangerously Serious returning to a December date for the first time in 13 years. PayBack will move to September, with The Gold Card becoming the permanent May event. The TWF will likely return to the three televised super cards on the xWn after a hiatus. None of this information is confirmed at present, but documents I have seen and heard seem to indicate these as being the company's plans moving forward.
• Marz's role as the host of TWF Road to Glory is continuing to generate some serious buzz, with many television magazines highlighting and recommending the show based upon Marz alone. The series finale has just wrapped and was not what the finalists were expecting. The long held idea of a final for the show was a dark match between the finalists at the TWF Arena, but when the show changed filming dates, this became impossible, forcing the show to come up with a compromise. Dallas Page and Dave Finlay were seen smiling at the post-show party and are interesting in taking part in a potential second run of the show. Sky have not publicly commented on the ratings for the show at present, with TV industry insiders feeling that Sky will be disappointed by them and would likely reshape the format if a second series is commissioned. I did hear that if the TWF doesn't like Sky's idea for the show, they will consider moving it to the xWn, but at the loss of potential new viewers. The show creates serious buzz on Twitter among those who are not considered typical TWF fans, which is why the company believes the show is so key.
• Mr. BIG received the all clear surrounding his left knee shortly after my last dispatch and has told many that his knee is slowly getting better thanks to "better" workouts. The Assassin did come in for major criticism for how he handled the finish to the match before it was discovered that BIG was unaware of how the match ended. Assassin apparently received a very public "chewing out" by a road agent just after the match, but due to his position as a great worker, Assassin is unlikely to receive any repercussions. Assassin has privately apologised to Biggie and posted a tweet on Monday morning about his guilt over the match. In the long run however, it may be a blessing in disguise. One website I read raised a good point; "due to the finish, there is now an appetite for a fourth match to really settle the score between the two men, something that might not have been there had the match continued".
• The TWF Travel Club sent out a survey this week to it's members asking for their thoughts on how the scheme could be improved. The club was established to help dedicated TWF fans travel to the company's many events outside the United Kingdom. One interesting question raised the possibility of the TWF looking to return to two venues in the near future: Australia (and New Zealand) and the United Arab Emirates. Two countries with strong traditions in professional wrestling, Japan and Mexico, were also mentioned as being potential hosts for a TWF television show and/or pay‐per‐view in the future.
• With a Hell in a Cell match being promoted for WrestleMania, there was been discussions overheard in the TWF production department over the past few weeks about holding a House of Pain match at Summer Break as a way of "one-upping" the WWE. There was a plan to hold the signature match at the signature event in 2008, but it was eventually decided against it. One well-known wrestler was quoted as speaking to the Wrestler's representative when it was discussed during the wrestler's meeting on Friday, stating his dislike of the idea. "Summer Break will sell based upon two reasons: it's Summer Break, the showcase event of the company. And the other reason is Mr. BIG has a winning streak." Many wrestlers were seen to nod in agreement with the main event talent, giving the creative team a cold shoulder to the idea.
• Internally, it has been confirmed that the Bridgend Dome will host Summer Break XIV and the TWF Arena will host Summer Break XV. One interesting idea has gained some traction backstage. One of the events, likely Summer Break XIV, will feature the tag line "Generations Collide", with the TWF looking to hold dream matches between current and former TWF wrestlers. There are still people hoping that a serious of "major financial offers" to the biggest stars in TWF history (specifically one guy who is known for three initials… ) that would mean the concept gets put back a year as the TWF will look to take advantage of the Bridgend Dome's size to have the biggest pay‐per‐view in the company's history.
• Both Hawke and Stephen Jenkins are being advertised for the next set of PWC tapings, indicating that the two men are likely to return to the TWF in the near future. Current plans see both men entering in the lower echelon of the TWF, which will surprise long time fans who will remember both men's popularity. The thinking behind this is to help elevate both the person they will be feuding with and those wrestlers in return. Many backstage point to The Shott's feud with Jack Beam as being an example of what the TWF wants to accomplish.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• Due to the fact that he has spent much of the last two weeks in hospital, many were surprised to see Mr. BIG walk away with the TWF World Championship on Sunday. After a stomach bug saw him spend two days in a Toronto area hospital, Biggie's left knee has been bothering him tremendously and he has been wearing a knee brace beneath his jeans for the past few weeks. The TWF has re-written plans for the next few weeks depending on whether a scan (due this week) dictates if Biggie requires surgery. As a result, there will be some game changing events taking place over the next few weeks to accommodate this.
• The tournament for a Women's Tag-Team Championship has officially been scrapped as of last week. The proposal was finally out-voted after many people on the board felt that the Women's roster is currently lacking depth as it is and a Tag-Team Championship would expose this flaw. The Women have been given a guarantee for more air time over the next few weeks, although Mr. BIG is said to be pushing for a second Women's match at Summer Break after last year's match went down better than most expected.
• Marz's success as the host of Road to Glory has led him to be labelled the show's "break out star". Those within the company do have favourites and those that they would "prefer" to win the contest, but the creative team has been told to hold off on any ideas for the winners until after the show is over. Marz is contemplating a book deal which has already got many within the TWF talking about his slant on specific events.
• NJS was asked on Twitter this week about whether he regrets never wrestling Mr. BIG at Summer Break, to which the Irreplaceable Icon replied "I've always seen it as one of the great "What ifs" that is left to the fan's imagination". Internally, the TWF has already committed to holding the next two Summer Breaks in the Bridgend Dome and TWF Arena and I've been reliably told that the company is preparing an "incredible" offer to NJS to make the dream match more attractive to him.
• Mike Haggar spoke over the weekend to promote Deadly MindGames in the Detroit media and revealed that his relationship with former TWF wrestler Matthew Jones has fallen apart. The two men were a team when Haggar initially joined the company and remained close both on-and-off screen after Jones left in September 2008. Haggar revealed that Jones initially suspected him as the cause of his failed relationship with his ex-girlfriend and the two haven't spoken since. Haggar now considers The Assassin as his mentor as the Masked Messiah took him under his wing around 18 months ago and Haggar has noticed his improvement since. The TWF has noticed this and expects Haggar to form a cornerstone of the company moving forward.
• The Avenger has drawn praise for dealing with being put slightly on the back burner lately. Avenger is still marked as a huge star within the company, but after his feud with Mr. BIG, the company isn't sure of his direction, focusing on other stars. There has been some criticism of the writing team lately, with the prospective Summer Break card "looking like throwing away last year's great work to give some feuds and stars 'one last go around'" to quote one major player.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• Mr. BIG chose not to invite anyone to the TWF Turns Twelve special and for his TWF World Championship match. Whilst he declared that it would be "business as usual", I'm told Biggie has felt increasingly distant from many of his friends lately, especially those who are removed from the wrestling business. BIG did throw a party at his house on Thursday night after the Fury taping which was attended by every member of the roster to celebrate his victory. BIG put over Jack Beam in a speech he made at the party, as well as congratulating Mastermind on their amazing match hours earlier. BIG has raised a few eyebrows this week by looking into some outside projects for the first time. BIG is looking to start up his own production company and is working on two television pilots which are both returns of Saturday night light entertainment shows.
• There was one friend who Mr. BIG did reach out to this week. Biggie contacted Sophie for the first time in a while and the two had a "long and engaging" telephone conversation backstage at Grit BasH. BIG has been receiving some romantic interest from elsewhere, but as my well-placed source reminds me "Biggie's only truly had eyes for her. I'm sure they'll be back together again some day." Apparently, one of the major stumbling blocks between the couple were their plans for starting a family, but after some time away, there is a feeling that the two are feeling the same about it now, which would make a relationship easier.
• Ratings for the first episode of Road to Glory were in-line with the company's expectations, but expect the company to give the show more promos during TWF programming. Those within Sky are quite happy with the ratings, but will be looking for an improvement. Sky were apprehensive that only one of the TWF's "genuine A-list superstars" (which they deem to be Mastermind, The Assassin, Mr. BIG, Marz and NJS) were featured on the show. Many were quietly hoping that NJS could be convinced to join the show, but NJS declined the channel's offer.
• The plan for Rick Majors's eventual return is for him to eventually square off against Justin Polaris. The feeling within the company is that the easiest way to do this would be to make it a World Championship match or to have either man involved in the eVo story, but these are still initial discussions. Some feel that the company should hold off the big match until next year to make it the marquee match for Summer Break XIV.
• Blade made his first interview since leaving the TWF last week and would be "very proud" to be asked to enter the TWF Hall of Fame. Blade was aware that his name was being discussed, but Blade feels that the TWF should hold off a few years so "more history can be made" before any more inductions should be made. Blade doesn't consider himself retired yet, but "inactive" and he would return to wrestling "if the right opportunity presented itself". The brawler noted that should he be asked, he would like his older brother High Voltage to perform his induction speech. Blade also stated that he heard the TWF was considering inducting tag team units into the Hall, which would allow a way for some previous inductees to get a "second chance" and a way of making an induction speech.
• There was a strong rumour going around the locker room that a former member of the TWF roster was going to be outed by a tabloid newspaper this week. Whilst a few names were being thrown around, one name that was often being raised surprised a few at first, but after a little while, my source told me "the guys made sense of it". There are some members of the locker room (especially upper management) who remain against any homosexuals in the TWF, but much of the roster have stated it is not a problem. The return of the openly gay Hawke to the TWF locker room in a few months is said to be making some people uneasy, but, there is little that can be done about it.
• Deadman's name was raised this week as many remembered his battles with Mr. BIG for the TWF World Championship many years ago. NJS's younger brother is still happily retired and is concentrating on life with his young family. In other news surrounding the whereabouts of TWF alumni, Joe Whelan has become a father to a baby girl, Tom Rich is still working for MTV in London, Matthew Wright (and his wife Elisha, the source of his feud with Joe Davies) has moved to start a new job nearer his best friend Lewis Kingston, whilst Joe Davies and Big Martin remain in Australia.

THE INSIDE SCOOP with The Insider

• There was very nearly a major last-minute change to The Gold Card event on Saturday night as Mr. BIG was taken ill with elevated blood pressure. BIG was cleared to compete early on Sunday, but had he not been able to make it, it would have likely been a 3-on-2 Handicap match. No major injuries came out of the event, although Nytro is working through a very bad knee according to my source.
• My source inside the TWF personnel department has told me that they anticipate a main event talent to announce their retirement in the next few months. My source understands that said talent has been contemplating life outside the ring for a little while, but would like to accomplish one or two more things before moving on. It is said however that this talent would very much like a backstage role, or possible an authority figure role, which was received warmly by the TWF creative team, who might consider it another twist on the eVo saga.
• The first episode of Road to Glory will air as a lead-in for the TWF Turns Twelve special. An edited version was shown to upper management earlier this week and it got mixed reviews. Those with a wrestling background were said to find the show enthralling, whilst those with a more business mind hated the show for "exposing" the company. As a result of the massive marketing campaign that is underway for the special, Sky One are expecting good ratings for the show, which may prove to be a double-edged sword.
• Rumoured sightings of former TWF World Champion Hawke in the Bridgend area have not been without substance. Despite being absent from the town for a few years to concentrate on his acting career, Hawke has entered negotiations to return to the company as his acting career has stalled. Sporting a new look of shorter hair and a goatee, Hawke is being worked into the eVo angle and a possible main event match at Summer Break. Due to the fact he hasn't wrestled consistently in almost seven years, the TWF will ask him to complete a conditioning stint in PWC before he joins the main roster. Interest regarding a possible return is said to be high as many within the company still consider Hawke to be one of the most charismatic and entertaining wrestlers in the company's history.
• Another name that is also in negotiations to return is Stephen Jenkins. One of the most decorated superstars in TWF history, Jenkins has told friends that he is very close to confirming a deal that will see him appear in PWC in a matter of weeks and be back on the main TWF roster in a few months. Jenkins has stayed involved in wrestling since leaving the TWF three years ago, making independent dates and a regular on the convention circuit, but Jenkins feels he still has more to give to the business and would like another shot at glory.
• Tobias Granville's rehab is said to be going very well and he may return ahead of schedule. Granville has told those close to him that he plans to make a big impression upon his return. There are currently plans for Granville to form a team with Victor Ortega, his long-time friend, and challenge for the Tag Team Championship. This is said to be the reason why Ortega has been seen to enquire about the services of Granville's manager, Jessica Roberts, who has travelled to all of the TV shows lately but hasn't been used.
• Several former TWF females, as well as some leading independent workers, have been contacted to form part of a tournament to determine the first Women's Tag-Team Champions, meaning that the Women's division expansion is going ahead. Plans call for the tournament to begin after Easter HeAT and conclude at the May pay‐per‐view. It is expected that a team comprised of regular TWF females win the tournament at this time, although a possible first independent champion is not being ruled out.
• The Hall of Fame appears to be nearing a return in 2012. The TWF has considered using the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles during Summer Break weekend as a venue for the ceremony, with potential inductees being Blonde Man, Brownie and Louise. The feeling within the company remains that the Hall of Fame will eventually return, but it is a case of where and when, as many feel that filling the Hall of Fame with borderline or unworthy candidates will not help the reputation of the company.
• With the focus now being on The Gold Card, the Time Crisis match has been retired for the time being. I'm reliably told that the match will only return if the TWF World Championship is vacated once more and there is enough time to build up a match. The TWF is also considering placing both the House of Pain and Tables, Ladders, Cell matches on a one-year hiatus to allow a new gimmick match to be given prominence. Drawings and plans do exist for the three match types discussed for Against All Odds last year: TECW's Prison of Pain concept is being considered, but is disliked by many for having too many flaws. The Hell's Motel and Prison Break matches however, do have supporters and therefore could appear this year, as could an old school steel cage match based on the forgotten classic Battle of Atlanta match from the early 1980s.

• The big deal surrounding the new 3-year extension to the TWF's deal with BSkyB is that the deal will see a much bigger presence of the TWF on Sky. The company feels the TWF is an under utilised brand in Sky's portfolio despite the number of viewers it draws, so many feel that with more promotion, the TWF could be even bigger. One person close to the negotiations has also said that Sky have asked the TWF to bring back the Supercards, with the TWF's Twelfth Birthday celebrations considered the first supercard, with the second being the rumoured Jubilee Sunday show at the Brewery Field.
• An idea has been floated around to reformat Overload into more of a "talking heads" show and turning Meltdown into more of a recap show than it currently is. As part of the TWF's new deal with Sky, the show will now be exclusive to Sky and some feel that if the two highlights programs are too similar, then they will not draw an audience. The TWF will apparently shoot a pilot of the reformatted show in the next few weeks and if it's a success, it could air within a few weeks.
• With the extra funds acquired from the new Sky deal, the TWF will look to expanding the roster. Mr. BIG has been pushing for an expansion of the Women's division and would like to introduce a Women's Tag-Team Championship. I was told this week that this was an idea floated as long ago as 2000, to be introduced at the same time as the Women's Championship itself. It also turns out that there was an idea back in 2009 for Nytro and Rio to win the titles together as part of a face turn for both then for Rio to turn heel and demand that a Women's Tag-Team Championship to be introduced. It now appears that the company will add at least two new females in the coming months, with old tandems being invited back for a tournament to determine the first champions.
• Interest in a book written by Marz appears to be gathering. Marz's architecture firm has finally got it's first big job in years and he is said to be delighted with it's progress. NJS's book was viewed as a success despite it not selling quite as strongly as Mr. BIG's, but many feel that it was down to NJS not being in the TWF and doing little to promote it. Marz has confirmed to friends that he has no desire for one more match and would only ever return if there was a storyline he thought he could advance.
• Rick Majors's piece for the Best of 2011 awards show was filmed a few weeks ago at his home in Toronto. Some suggest that when the rehab for his injuries is complete, Majors could return to lead the charge against eVo. With there being a vacancy for a top-level face, Majors could be the one person at the top of the card who would feel familiar (a third match in the series against Justin Polaris many feel could headline Summer Break) but fresh at the same time.
• John Harper has been getting rave reviews for his work. One source told me "if you would have said that Harper would be one step away from a Triple Crown and Full House about two years ago, I would have laughed at you". A returning Rick Majors is also good news for Harper as the TWF has long wanted to book an all-Canadian main event for the World Championship at Summer Break.
