A lonely dancer silently pirouettes on a stage. As she begins to turn, some slow music begins to play. As the dancer turns, moments from Summer Breaks past appear. Marz winning the Intercontinental Championship at SB 2001…… The Z‐Pack's Tag Team Championship victory at Summer Break V…… Matthew Wright turns on Joey Davies at SB VIII…… the face off between Mr. BIG and Karl Davies at SB IV…… The Bandit posing with the TWF World Championship at SB 2003…… Mr. BIG and The Assassin's stare down at Summer Break VIII…… and finally Marz and NJS's handshake at Summer Break VI. A man's voice can be heard over these moments as they are shown.
"These are our great moments of the past. A piece of time that has been highlighted, and will never be forgotten. On this stage, many have attempted to underline their careers with their final punctuation point. That moment that they can definitively say is "theirs". This is their stage. Tonight, we stand on the grandest stage in professional wrestling. The players are ready to act our their scenes. There will be much emotion. Sweat… tears… and maybe blood. They wonder whether it is all in vain. As a lonely dancer continues to dance her last dance, could some others be following in her footsteps."
Suddenly, stage lights begin to glare at the dancer as she finishes her dance, accompanied by the opening lines to Savatage's
'Welcome'…
"The lights come on,
The set is down,
The curtain's flown away,
To all you creatures of the night,
I say it's time we play,
We'll show you things,
That in your life,
You'd never dreamed you'd know,
So now before the ghosts arrive,
It's welcome to the show… "
The dancing girl returns for the Summer Break ident, "And now… Rockstar Energy Drink proudly presents…… the loudest show on earth… SUMMER BREAK NINE!".
The compact Summer Break set for this year's edition bursts into life and colour with a fantastic fireworks display. There is no extravagant set like years past. A TotalTron has been setup on the lower tier of the stadium with a smaller video screen beneath it where the wrestlers make their entrances, which is the same entrance way used by the sports teams that use the Millennium Stadium. The Summer Break theme, "Inside the Fire", is just about audible over the noise of 70,000 strong cheering and chanting as the biggest event in the TWF calendar kicks off. "It's a night like no other, and it's live from a venue like no other. For no reason we have christened it, the loudest show on earth… welcome to Summer Break IX everybody!" was Scott Hudson's opening exchange with viewers. "What a night it's going to be, every championship in the TWF decided, some intense grudges to be settled, and it could be the last dance for Paul Heyman and his Dangerous Alliance! I'm Scott Hudson and alongside me is the irreplaceable Bryan Daniels… " Hudson says before being interrupted by Daniels… "Yes, it's my second Summer Break Hudson, and I hope you don't ruin it for me like you did the last time. I want to hear this great theme song, but you're talking over me!". Once the two settle down, Hudson and Daniels quickly discuss their own highlighted matches for the night, before giving a quick introduction to their Welsh announce colleagues, Michael King and Bryn Tomos, who inform viewers who are interested in their action to press the blue button on their remotes to get their commentary, before themselves discussing the explosive situation between Marz and the Terminator. Upon coverage returning to Hudson and Daniels, Daniels remarks that the 2007 version of the TWF logo is back on screen for the first time in 2008, Hudson stating he was not aware of the change, but as he turned around, the logo appeared on the Summer Break poster that appeared on screen.
"Hehe… come wit me… " the crowd continues to stand and boo as our first competitor makes his way out.
"New School" Jack Beam makes his way out to the ring with a massive smile on his face as fans pelt verbal abuse at the long reigning TWF Television Champion, who has weaseled his way out of victories against John Harper in recent weeks. After being introduced as being from Pittsburgh, PA, the self-proclaimed "King of New School" grabbed the microphone from the ring announcer, Karli Andrews, and asked the crowd for quiet. Obviously, they did not oblige, booing even louder at the TV Champion. Beam says that tonight, he has finally arrived in the Millennium Stadium, and he says that frankly, he doesn't understand all the fuss about the venue, saying that it's already old, decrepid and needs taring down, mentioning that when they demolished the Cardiff Devils's old ice rink, they should have taken it with them! Bryan Daniels loves this remark, but the crowd jeers furiously at Beam. Beam says tonight that they can bet on the fact that he will walk out of the stadium the way he just walked in, as the Total Wrestling Federation Television Champion, and just like half the kids in Cardiff at the moment, it's going to be because they were victims of some New School Expulsion!
"Two Worlds" by Disturbed interrupts the cocky young champion. Standing in the entrance way is one of his opponents tonight, making his Summer Break debut here tonight ‐ Victor Ortega. The man from Arizona slowly walks down to the ring, not taking his eyes off Jack Beam, a man who he has displayed in recent weeks no particular liking to. Daniels reckons that Beam will still walk away from this match tonight as the champion thanks to his "superior mat wrestling skills", although Hudson remarks that Daniels must have been watching Beam train as he has shown no such skill in recent victories.
The first big cheers of the evening are given to "Follow You Home" by Nickelback, as it signals the arrival of the Canadian Destroyer, John Harper. Harper slowly walks down the aisle imitating his hero Bret Hart, with sunglasses and a black leather jacket over his pink singlet. A small pyro begins over his head as he walks down to the ring, slapping the hands of the fans. Harper gets into the ring and poses on each side of the ring to the fans, with Ortega watching over him whilst Jack Beam watches from outside the ring. Harper comes back to the middle of the ring and throws the Summer Break IX t-shirt he was wearing over his pink singlet into the crowd, before then placing the sunglasses he just wore over the eyes of a young fan in the front row. Harper smiles as he gets into the ring with the music fading and he immediately locks up with Victor Ortega.

Give It to Me by 3 Doors Down, from their Billboard Top 200 #1 release, "3 Doors Down". |
The arena lights go down and turn a shade of green and the crowd boos loudly when "Low" by the Foo Fighters begins to play loudly over the PA. In the middle of the entrance way, standing in his long trench coat is The Terminator. Scott Hudson recites some facts about the Terminator, including the fact that he is a former xWa Tag Team Champion with his opponent tonight. Terminator is also the longest uninterrupted Intercontinental Champion in the TWF's history, a fact that makes Bryan Daniels cockily predict that Terminator will be victorious tonight. Even as Karli Andrews announces him to the ring, he is purely emotionless, taking off his long coat and simply standing in the middle of the ring whilst a short pyro display goes on above his head. As "Low" fades, the crowd is standing in anticipation of the arrival of his opponent.
The guitar feedback slowly creeps in and the crowd ERUPTS as the cymbals hit, signalling the beginning of "World to Come" by Gojira. As the main riff kicks in, echoing over the stadium's speakers, in the middle of the entrance way, in his usual wrestling attire, is The God of War. Marz poses under a spotlight for a moment, before storming out of the spotlight and taunting the crowd profusely as he makes his way down to the ring, with his manager and girlfriend Michelle accompanying down to the ring. Scott Hudson remarks that Marz looks more fired up tonight than he ever has been for a Summer Break before, despite Marz's illustrious history with the company. Daniels replies as Marz poses on the apron that this is because The Terminator has something to prove himself tonight, he wants desperately to prove he was the better man in the former tag team.

Who's Going Home With You Tonight? by Trapt, from their brand new release, "Only Through the Pain".
|
The stadium falls silent as a result of the video package. A single spotlight falls on Karli Andrews in the ring as she delivers the following message: "Ladies and Gentlemen… the next match is the MAIN EVENT of Summer Break IX! It is scheduled for one fall, and will be contested for the Total Wrestling Federation World Championship. In this match, by order of MD Paul Heyman, there will be No Disqualifications and No Time Limit, so a winner must be determined here tonight!". Hudson and Daniels debate the stipulations added by Paul Heyman to the match when the spotlight disappears.
"Introducing first… the challenger!"… an eerie blue light flicks around the Millennium Stadium as the funeral bell tolls. The crowd rises and gives a massive pop. The funeral bell still tolls longer and longer until it is interrupted by the sound of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)" by Limp Bizkit begins to play as Deadman roars into the aisle with a look of nerves on his face. He slowly hits the accelerator before storming down the aisle and riding around the ring twice before entering. "From parts unknown, weighing in at 235 pounds… DEADMAN!" As Karli says his name, The D spots his wife-to-be Ms. Sweet and his father, XCW Owner Mr. Job‐Smith sitting in the front row near to the entrance way, along with his brother NJS. The screen shows all three sitting in their seats which gets a massive reaction from the capacity crowd who are hoping that Deadman evens up his Summer Break win-loss record to 4-4 tonight. With this appearance, along with Brownie, he remains one of the only men to wrestle at every Summer Break.
The lights go out once more as the sound of drums can be heard over the PA. BANG! Fireworks go off as the champion appears in the aisle with a shit-eating grin beneath his mask. "And his opponent, being accompanied by his manager and TWF Managing Director Paul Heyman; from Miami, Florida; weighing in at 302 pounds… he is the current, reigning and defending Total Wrestling Federation WORLD CHAMPION… THE ASSASSIN!" "Trust" continues to echo over the PA as Daniels tells us that it is down to The Assassin to save Paul Heyman's TWF Career tonight after being let down by Justin Polaris and Mastermind earlier tonight. Hudson reminds us that Deadman got this match signed after controversial circumstances at Total Chaos and will seek to prove he could have won the match then… but now he can deliver the ultimate upset on the loudest stage on earth.
As Assassin entered the ring, he eyed up Deadman immediately. Paul Heyman stood at ringside, proudly watching over his monster as Chief Referee Kevin Poole checked over both competitors and cleared up with them the stipulations, which must have meant that Heyman changed the stipulations as the match was being announced. Poole held the TWF World Championship belt up in the air proudly before handing it to Heyman, who instead of handing it to the timekeeper's table at ringside, placed it on his shoulder and began taunting the front rows with the belt, including Mr. Job‐Smith, throwing some particularly harsh insults his way about XCW's demise.
Both men had points to prove in this match. Deadman wanted to prove that what happened at Total Chaos was an injustice to him and he could have become a TWF World Champion. Deadman has had so much promise during his career but this is a rare main event for the TWF stalwart, and perhaps in the back of his mind, he wants to win the championship to equal himself in the eyes of his peers to his brother, who is a legend among legends in the Total Wrestling Federation. Assassin, on the other hand was not just wrestling for pride, but for his championship and his manager and mentor Heyman, with a loss in this match meaning his TWF career would, at long last, be over.
It seemed at the start that the two men were both nervous about the weight being held on their shoulders. As many expected, Assassin was the first to let the weight drop onto his shoulders with a serious of brutal punches and kicks that grounded down the veteran Deadman. Assassin wanted to make sure he would get the last laugh for Heyman and was hell bent on his quest, with a series of brutal suplexes and long submission holds being used to grind Deadman down. However, momentum turned during one of the holds, and with Heyman shouting words of encouragement to Assassin, the 70,000-strong willed Deadman on. Reversing the submission hold, Deadman threw Assassin into the ropes and hit him on the rebound with a textbook dropkick. Both men were down, and at this point Heyman stood on the apron and whispered something in Poole's ear. Heyman turned to the crowd and was pelted with abuse from all corners of the ring as he leaped back down. Amazingly, for a man whose career depends on the result of this match, Heyman was quite calm and collected with his thoughts and actions, a demeanour which puzzled his former broadcast partner Scott Hudson at ringside. Still, the match continued, with both men forged on with their brutal attacks. Assassin did look close to victory on many occasions, particularly after hitting The Assassinator. A weak two-count occurred, with Assassin arguing the reactions of referee Poole. This gave Deadman enough time to roll Assassin over in an Oklahoma Roll then apply a Boston Crab, which some members of the crowd mistook as a tribute to NJS's Laws of NJS. Nevertheless, the crowd cheered on as Heyman then attempted to distract referee Poole once more, leading Deadman to stop the hold and attempt to reason with Heyman. Heyman did not acknowledge the former Kid, but when Deadman turned around, Assassin planted him with a vicious Big Boot that drew gasps from the announce table and front few rows. As Assassin covered, the thud that resounded around the Millennium Stadium was being analysed on instant replay by Bryan Daniels, who saw the kick as a perfectly reasonable display of power from the Champion. Yet again, it seemed like the Miami Madman had the match under control. It seemed exactly this way when after a Spinebuster, Assassin laughed at the crowd before delivering The Assassin's Elbow. The crowd were resigned to more of Heyman's tyranny as the count reached two. Deadman amazingly kicked out at two, and the crowd roared. Heyman was now, simply, pissed. Assassin cornered Poole and argued with the official, which gave Heyman an idea ‐ he jumped onto the apron and clocked the referee in the back of the head with the TWF World Championship belt he was holding. Deadman rolled up Assassin and Heyman, of all people, jumped into the ring and performed a count… stopping at two and raising his middle finger to Deadman. Deadman grabbed Heyman by the throat and looked to punch the MD, but Assassin picked up Deadman and hit him with an F5. Slowly, walking down the aisle was Justin Polaris, Alexis Polaris and Mastermind. The crowd booed as the three, with matching smirks, went over and ordered the Job‐Smith family sitting at ringside to leave. Despite all three holding their VIP passes in clear view of the MD, he instructed they were booted out of ringside. Deadman in the meantime got another F5 for his troubles before The Assassin handed duties over to Mastermind who hit Deadman with a Brain Scrambler. The crowd was booing furiously. They could do nothing about it, but yet another example of the Heyman era was on display. Hudson was screaming for someone to stop the near riot from occurring, but Bryan Daniels quirked "It's no use Hudson, no-one is here to save you and these fans now". Shortly after that… Some mysterious music began to play, with no video showing on the TotalTron. The crowd stood in stunned silence, suspecting Heyman to debut another member of the Alliance. Heyman however turned and his jaw hit the canvas in shock at who walked out into the aisle.
IT WAS SOPHIE!
The crowd went INSANE! The girl humiliated by Paul Heyman when she suffered a miscarriage in March is back! And she's back to get her revenge! Hudson was going nuts at ringside as Sophie strolled down to the ring with "I Can Be", her new theme music by Taio Cruz, echoing in the background. Alexis Polaris attempted to get in Sophie's way walking down to the ring, but she was given a forceful shove into the wall in the entrance way! The crowd went nuts as Sophie, with a determined look and fire in her eyes, walked down to the ring. Justin Polaris and Mastermind were standing outside the ring with Heyman on the apron, who was still in shock. Sophie stopped short of entering the ring however. She instead pointed back towards the entrance way when some more familiar music began to play…
IT WAS MR. EDWARDS!
He's back from his hiatus, and not a day too soon! Edwards stands in the entrance and admires the crowd with the classic New Wave theme of "No Diggity" by Blackstreet playing. He slowly walks down the entrance way before meeting up with Sophie. Edwards charges the ring but is beaten down by Polaris and Mastermind on the outside, when NJS leaps onto one of the security barricades surrounding ringside and hits a Dragon Attack onto Polaris and Mastermind. Heyman cannot believe it and is shouting commands to his troops when Sophie slides into the ring. Surprisingly, Heyman does not reason with her, seemingly not regretting a single word he said about her in the past, leading to Sophie delivering an almighty slap onto Heyman. Sophie gets out of the ring with Heyman giving chase. Heyman chases Sophie around the ring until… WHACK! He is met with a chairshot from Mr. Edwards that leaves Heyman laying in a dazed state! Assassin in the meanwhile wants to wrap things up and looks to give Deadman a third and final F5. He lifts Deadman into the Fireman's Carry, but Deadman forces his way off Assassin's shoulders… Deadman Slam! Referee Kevin Poole rolls around to see Deadman cover. 1… 2… 3!
The crowd went BANANAS! Deadman had done it! Sophie was back! Mr. Edwards returned! Heyman was gone! A TWF fan's wildest dream had come true in a few short minutes! "Rollin'" began to play with members of the crowd hugging and high-fiving each other, knowing they had witnessed the toppling of a regime. Referee Poole awarded Deadman the World Championship belt, upon which Deadman burst into tears as he was faced with his World Title. Hudson had almost lost his voice but managed to throw in a great address ‐ "It was only a few years ago I said when NJS won the Full House that if you follow your dreams you can achieve anything, well tonight, his brother has followed on years of promise and can at last look down on the rest of the TWF from the top of the mountain. D, you have done it! You have become TWF World Champion!" ‐ the latter part was addressed as Deadman tried to ask Hudson through tears "Have I done it? Have I won?".
Heyman and his Dangerous Alliance regrouped in the aisle, but knew this was not their moment, and Heyman left the Total Wrestling Federation on a whimper. Deadman posed on a turnbuckle with confetti and fireworks going off around him and delighted fans clapping the new World Champion as he posed with the belt. Sophie then motioned for some people to join him. His father, Mr. Job‐Smith, was first to congratulate him with a hearty hug and a pose for the camera. His wife-to-be, Ms. Sweet, is next to gain the big hug from the World Champion, upon which he bursts into tears once more. Daniels turned to Hudson at this point and said "You know what, I didn't know what a World Title truly meant until tonight. The passion and the emotion… you really do have to earn a World Championship, and credit where credit is due, Deadman deserves this tonight. But who the hell is in charge here now?". As NJS laps up the crowd in the front few rows, three familiar faces to TWF fans who will be gone after tonight walk down the aisle ‐ Team EV: Blonde Man, Brownie and Stephen Jenkins. The crowd roars as the three enter the ring and all hug and congratulate their friend on his greatest accomplishment, with Deadman breaking into a laugh and a smile. Sophie and Mr. Edwards then congratulate the new champion ‐ Sophie with a quick hug and kiss, whilst Mr. Edwards gives D a massive handshake and hug, knowing all his troubles for attaining the World Championship. Finally, the biggest applause is left for the icon standing in the ring next to him ‐ NJS steps forward to a mass of cheers and chants from the crowd. NJS grabbed the World Championship from Deadman's shoulder and placed him in the middle of the ring. NJS wrapped the belt around Deadman's waist and then raised his arm in the air, before doing their old Brothers of Mayhem taunt which got a mass of cheers from the crowd. The brothers had yet another embrace before NJS cleared the way for Deadman to pose on the turnbuckle. This set off another round of pyros and confetti above him, with Deadman looking up with a huge smile on his face.
A rundown of the events of tonight's card then took place, set initially to the music of "It's Not My Time" by 3 Doors Down, demonstrating the outstanding personalities, costumes and entrances on tonight's show. A montage that showed the Millennium Stadium being prepared was also shown during the package.
After the first chorus, "Inside the Fire" kicks in and the rundown of the night's events begins… … John Harper's victory over Jack Beam and Victor Ortega… … Stephen Jenkins's last match ending in victory… … Eddie McBrain's amazing victory in the Hardkore Challenge to be the last ever Champion, then having his arm raised by The Vamp… … Michelle winning the Women's Championship at Summer Break, reversing the result of a year ago… … JCVS giving Louise an emotional send-off… … Blade and Nytro's incredible Last Man Standing match with Blade's victory… … Hades gaining his revenge for months of torment over Mastermind, before waving goodbye the crowd… … Disturbed & Zero winning back the Tag Team Championships before performing a guard of honour for Team EV… … Marz and The Terminator finally squaring off with Marz gaining victory… … Deadman gets the last laugh over Paul Heyman and the Dangerous Alliance.
The final image of the rundown is of Deadman climbing the turnbuckle with pyros and confetti going off above him and posing in the admiration of the fans.
