MARZ MOMENT
2002
Marz, recovering from injuries sustained at the hands of High Voltage and Mr. BIG at Summer Break 2002, is seated in a wheelchair, delivering a speech on the stage of TECW Mega, when a masked assailant appears from behind Marz, picks him up from his wheelchair and powerbombs him with such force he brakes the part of the stage where he was once seated. Marz would not make another televised in-ring appearance for almost 6 months as a result of his injuries. His attacker was never found.

MARZ MOMENT
2004
Marz wins his third TWF World Championship surrounded in controversy. Gifted the title opportunity thanks to an agreement with AJ Jeffers, he faced Mr. BIG on an episode of Grit BasH from Newbridge Fields, where BIG was screwed out of his championship thanks to the teaming of his oldest rivals – AJ Jeffers, Hawke and Marz – who we later learned had called their collective… The Triad.

MARZ MOMENT
2010
After being victorious in the Time Crisis match, Marz faces Nytro at No Way BacK for the TWF World Championship in Washington, D.C. and the two have a tremendous match until the arrival of Disturbed and Zero, enemies of Marz and fellow members of the Entourage with Nytro. The two attack Marz until the arrival of a poorly Mr. BIG, who fights off Technically Superior and allows Marz to hit Nytro with the Bomb and become a Four-Time TWF World Champion. Emotional celebrations follow, with Marz eventually joined after the show by JT Money, Mastermind and The Assassin alongside Mr. BIG, who celebrated with him as the show went off the air.

An incredible and emotional video package of Marz's career then plays, set to "Say the Same" by Hoobastank. This is easily one of the greatest video packages that the TWF has ever produced and ties in much of the lyrics to moments of his career, with moments based on friendship aided by memories of Mr. BIG and the Shott, Marz's longest serving tag team partners.
The sound of guitar feedback grows ever louder, signalling the beginning of "World to Come" by Gojira, Marz's entrance music. The crowd slowly rises and begins to cheer, hitting another echelon of decibels when the cymbals hit. Slowly, out onto the entrance way, steps Marz, to a roaring ovation from the crowd. The God of War looks in good condition, considering his incredible efforts on Sunday night in the Pyramid Cage match. Marz slowly walks down the aisle with a coy smile on his face. He breaks with convention and his usual poses and entrance routine, simply climbing into the ring, picking up the microphone that has been left in the corner nearest to the timekeeper's table. "World to Come" gradually fades out, which allows the sound of applause and cheers for the former TWF World Champion to come to the fore. Scott Hudson pointed out as Marz made his way down to the ring that the speculation over his immediate future is the reason for him requesting this time tonight, with many rumours being loudly whispered since the close of Sunday night. Marz slowly raises the microphone to his lips and delivers the following speech…
"On Sunday night, I achieved something I didn't think possible. I entered Against All Odds as TWF World Champion. I had the fight of my career against Justin Polaris and we beat each other from pillar to post, from one side of the Pyramid Cage to the other. And when it was all said and done, I stood at the apex of the Pyramid and held that World Championship belt high in the air. I was spent, I had given my all. But, as you all know, I entered the arena here tonight without the belt because of course, NJS, exchanged the Gold Card right after my hellacious match and had the easiest victory of his career. I can't say I blame NJS. I don't. Back in the day, I would have done the very same thing. However, NJS's victory has sped up a process that I thought was inevitable.
In this business, even in the last year or so, I've had an incredible time and it's been the ne plus ultra of my career. I won the Tag Team Championships with Mr. BIG, {HUGE POP} and had some of the greatest matches of my career – the match at Deadly MindGames, and the Mexican rules match were truly the peak of my career, and credit to Disturbed and Zero for being such magnificent opponents. Then in March, when I was counted out and I was told "You can't do this again", I won the TWF World Championship again. As some of you maybe aware, my manager Michelle and I are engaged. We plan to get married a little later this year. When I won the title that night in Washington, I turned to Michelle after the show and said "When I lose this title, it's over. I'm gonna retire". I am a man of my word, so as a result, the rumours you have been hearing since Sunday night are true. Marz has had his last match.
This was not an easy decision to make. Wrestling has been my life for the past 15 years or so. It is an important part of my being. But, I have accomplished everything I wanted to now. I've won the Triple Crown, the Full House, held the World Title longer than a couple of minutes, wrestled in front of millions of people, but now it is time for me to move on. I've been itching to start a family but it's been difficult to do so, so I plan on doing that.
{ONE MORE MATCH, ONE MORE MATCH}
I appreciate that, I really do, but I am a man of my word. I know that "retirement" in professional wrestling is a bit of a joke, but I will do everything I can to leave my body of work as it is. I respect your love and delighted you think so highly of me, but, I don't want to go back on my word to Michelle that I really am done. {APPLAUSE}
I didn't want to come out here tonight and give out a long list of thanks, mainly because I can't remember who I was going to thank anyway. There's a long list of people who seriously deserve credit for making me who I am. The production crew here in the TWF do an incredible job – from the pyro guys to the stage crew, the ring technicians, the lighting and sound guys – they do an amazing job to give us an arena to perform in and enable us to go out and entertain you every Wednesday and Friday night. All of the referees, even the crooked ones, do their best to make sure we have an incredible match. The soundtrack we have is the very best – Scott and Bryan have become the greatest announce duo in professional wrestling today {LOUD CHEERS}, their job is in no way easy, believe me, I've tried, but, those moments sound a lot better with them. They won't mind me saying that I was fortunate enough to have some of my matches announced by the greatest announce team of all‐time – Jerry "The King" Lawler and Jim Ross {MASSIVE CHEERS} and I thank them for their time and hope they can return to call some more matches in the TWF in the future. The guys who put together the video packages, like the incredible one that rolled before I came out here are the most talented people I have ever met and they deserve an incredible amount of kudos for making a fairly decent career like mine look amazing in the length of a piece of video. {HUGE CHEERS}
The people who worked in NCW deserve a lot of credit. NCW was my baby, but ultimately, I didn't do as good a job of it as I could have done. I really appreciate what the TWF did for me, the support network we established when I pushed myself out there and tried to do it on my own. I sunk. We had some terrific moments, and hell, the TWF must have liked something because they bought the Video Library and are starting to put some stuff out now, which is great. I don't want that period to be forgotten. I know the TWF loyalists are never truly going to thank me for what happened back then, but, the competition that drove us on back then is something I only wish we had on this level now.
There are a couple of people in particular I would like to mention.
Shott {BIG CHEERS}, I put you through so much back in the day, I realise now how badly I treated you and how you deserved a better friend than the one you had. And when you found that out, I realised what I was missing out on. We haven't spoken to each other all that much in the past few weeks, but you're still one of the finest people in this business and you deserve more credit for the way you practically carried NCW when I was having one of my off days and made sure that there was still a show out there for us to put on. I only wish I wasn't an asshole for as long as I was or else you and I would have made fine tag team champions. You are also a tremendous friend and fine human being and I will miss being around you.
NJS {MIXED REACTION} – haha, that's funny. Who would have thought he'd get booed and me cheered? – if there was one guy who I drove crazy more than anybody else throughout my career, it's you. You are, easily, one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all‐time. That is a fact. {APPLAUSE} You always brought your A‐Game to all of our matches and I constantly get asked which was the best – the match we had in Vegas at Summer Break in 05 can't be topped for me buddy {CHEERS}. I wish you the best in your future with Lucy, I know how happy you are with her and it's been a pleasure to get to know her and you a bit better as a result of our similar circumstances. I hope for the best for you and your family. So that's Ben, NJS… oh yeah, some other crazy dude.
Biggie, my brother {CROWD EXPLODES}. We've known each other since we were 4 years old. We lived next door to each other. We were friends, enemies, rivals, partners. Even when you wanted to absolutely kill me back in the Wednesday Night Wars, you never did. You had every right to say everything bad you had ever said about me. But, what I realise is that without you, I am a nobody. You made me, more than anybody else I know, who I am today. When I needed direction, I came to you and you always told me how you saw it, even if I didn't want to hear what you had to say. Even as I came back in and people shunned me because of NCW, you slowly realised that we were better together and what drove us apart only made us stronger. Our run as tag team champions this past year was the most fun and easily the greatest time of my career. We've teamed up as the Z‐Pack and FX, but I think the Militia is what will live on the longest. When my name was mentioned in hushed tones, you would be the one to tell those speaking quietly to speak up and you have always had my back. I've also realised that I could never work with or for anybody else. You continue to be the one who guides this company and have always had it's best interests at heart. Even when people said you didn't. Honestly, I can't begin to describe how I feel about the opportunities you have given me in my career and how together, we have seen this little thing we did to keep ourselves entertained in our early‐twenties grow into this incredible company that is so fun to be in and around. You made me the man I am today and I thank you so very much for that.
Michelle, the love of my life, you have always been at my side, through good and bad. I love you so very much and the moments we have shared together we will never forget for the rest of our lives. Thank you for putting up with me and liking what you put up with so much you wanted to marry me. That means more to me than perhaps anything else I have accomplished.
One last thing. Thank YOU {POINTS AT THE AUDIENCE} – thank you for supporting this company. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for booing me. There were many times where I didn't feel wanted in the past ten years, but the one place where I could always feel where I belonged was in this ring, or on that stage, entertaining you the best I can. It has been a privilege to come out here and perform for the past decade or so and there isn't a moment I regret. All of the travel, all of the heartache, the hotel rooms trashed, the catering areas turned upside down, it all doesn't matter when you get to the curtain and your music hits. Nothing else matters, you realise it's all totally worth it.
This is not goodbye, but farewell. Thank you all. Thank you."
Marz drops the microphone and is given a standing ovation from the crowd. The camera cuts in on many people, male and female, young and old, who are either holding back tears or sobbing. Marz slowly exits the ring and walks around ringside, high‐fiving fans and shaking hands, thanking each of them for their support. He walks over to Scott and Bryan, giving them huge hugs, as well as those at the time keeper's desk and Karli Andrews, who is crying profusely. Marz continues to walk around ringside, pointing at fans holding signs in his support and shouting thanks. As he walks up the aisle way, he continues to speak to fans, shaking their hands and thanking them whilst holding back tears. "World to Come" begins to play as he then reaches the stage, waving at fans on both sides of the stage and bowing, before saying "Thank you" once more. The crowd roars as out walks Mr. BIG. He catches Marz off‐guard and turns him around, giving him a massive hug. The two embrace, with Biggie raising Marz's right arm in the air. BIG applauds, as Marz waves at the crowd again. Biggie turns at Marz and smiles before they do the old FX "Stuff It" taunt to a rapturous applause from the crowd. Biggie pulls out from one of his belt straps an old Marz t‐shirt of his trademark pose and lays it down on the floor beneath where Marz is standing on the stage. Biggie holds Marz's right arm up in the air once more and poses for a moment. He drops the arm, high‐fives him, then walks backstage with a smile on his face. Marz blows a kiss to the crowd before he walks along both sides of the Grit BasH stage, waving and thanking the crowd once more. Marz stops in the middle of the stage above his t‐shirt and performs his trademark pose one last time before he slowly walks behind the curtain. The camera focuses in on the t‐shirt laid on the stage to end the program.
