Just incase you haven't got Sky or live outside of the UK, here's what our Music Channels are like.
MTV - Your generic MTV. Shows include: Cribs, Punk'd, The Osbournes and regular documentaries. MTV Hits - A Pop Music channel for all the teenyboppers, showing videos 24/7. Artists Usually Showing are: Busted, Britney Spears, Sean Paul and Kelly Clarkson MTV2 - A Metal/Rock station, with it's flagship show 'Gonzo' hosted by Zane Lowe. Other shows include Jackass, Txt Drugs N Rock N Roll and regular Live perfomances. VH1 - Your typical Video Hits 1 station, showing all the classics, including more recent classics. Robbie Williams is a regular feature on this station. VH1 Classic - Shows 50s/60s/70s/80s/90s videos. If your young and don't want to know about the past, don't view. MTV Base - Rap, RnB and Hip-Hop are featured here. A very good channel actually. Shows a lot of music videos and it's own programming. MTV Dance - Dance music channel which operates between 7pm - 4am. Dance music for all your *Mhmh*ers out there. TMF - The Music Factory shows pop videos 24/7, much like MTV Hits does.
The Box - Moving into the totally interactive channels, The Box shows a selection of all genres, from Sean Paul to Linkin Park, from Eminem to Britney Spears, KISS - One of my favourites. Rap, Hip-Hop and RnB are focused upon, with 2Pac, Eminem, Dr. Dre and so on featured. Smash Hits! - Also known as Smash The Shits and Smash Shits to me, this shows Pop Music 24/7. If you are a BAND, this is your death sentence. See: Linkin Park's fanbase after they began showing Crawling on the channel and Ditto for Evanescence with Bring Me to Life. Magic - 70s/80s/90s Music for your enjoyment. VH1, VH1 Classic and MTV Hits all in one and interactive. Q - Best allround channel of the lot. Shows Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, RnB, Rap...basically everything. Kick-ass channel. Kerrang! - Personal favourite. Shows Metal/Nu Metal and so on. Kick-ass station. If you dig the bands I do, you'll like Kerrang!
P-Rock TV - Punk Rock Television. As the name states, Punk and Ska dominate here. Bad Religion, Goldfinger and Sum 41 are regulars. The Hits - The Box meets Smash Hits. Ocassionally shows good stuff, but on the whole pretty shite.
The Amp - Guitar themed, as the name shows. Electric 6 are favourites on this station. Scuzz - In the few months of being on air, this station has developed a HUGE fanbase, particuarly because of their sweet-ass adverts. Same Music as Kerrang, minus some P-Rock. Flaunt - Townie Nation! Pop, Pop, Pop...Boring, Boring, Boring
Music Choice - Rarely use this channel, but using you Red Button, around 15 different stations are available, from Pop to Rock from Jazz to Classics. Good station from when I have been on it.
