BREAKING NEWS: Nathan Jones quits WWE
7th Dec, 2003 at 12:06pm

Nathan Jones officially quit WWE earlier this weekend while in Australia while on the Asia-Australia tour that the SmackDown brand wrestlers are currently on.

Apparently Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, and the Big Show all tried to talk the superstar out of leaving the company at today’s show in Perth, Australia. Their attempts were unsuccessful and Jones grabbed his bags and said he can’t take the business any more. According to some sources, Jones did not even work his match on today’s house show,

The feeling amongst many is that the airplane scare that the wrestlers experienced over snowy Russia and a rough landing in South Korea was the start of it all for Jones. Even though it seems as a shock that he would quit, most were not the least surprised backstage.

As reported earlier, Nathan Jones quit WWE yesterday while on tour with SmackDown crew overseas this week. Jones did not wrestle the show in Perth, Australia which he was promoted for.

WWE sources are saying that the reason that he quit is because he was homesick and was not committed enough to be a professional wrestler with all the responsibilities that go along with traveling and always "being on the go."

Jones never had a good reputation in WWE, as he was known to creep his colleagues out at times with his bizarre backstage behavior and had a bad reputation of being uncoordinated in the ring. In all realization, Jones was not cut out to be a decent in-ring wrestler which may have taken its toll on him, who had a great appearance and presence.

Before debuting with WWE, Jones worked overseas tours with the World Wrestling Alliance and was their World Champion early last year.
