The TWF's Executive Board
(also known as the Board of Directors) is a committee of between 10-14 members, who are the most powerful decision makers in the matters and affairs of the Total Wrestling Federation.
The Board was set up in late 2000 just as the TWF began to expand, and featured the TWF's CEO, COO, MD & President all meeting thrice-monthly to discuss affairs. Upon Marz's ownership of the TWF, the board was disbanded for a short while until just before his departure. The board was re-instated and it's first action was to unanimously vote out Marz as Owner & Managing Director of the company.
Since then, the Board's importance has not decreased, with meetings at least once a week to discuss matters in the famous Board Room in TWF Towers. In any decision made, the members all have one vote each. In the event of a tie, the most powerful present, usually the Managing Director, followed by the Chairman, the CEO, the COO, will have the deciding vote.
The board's matters usually include TWF policies such as those on illegal substances, breaks, television issues, suspensions and talent. In the past, suspensions have rarely made a TWF Board Meeting, but the discussion of policies is always an important issue.
In 2007, the Board was reshuffled with some members electing not to re-join and the official retirement of former Managing Director Doug Edwards from TWF affairs meant that there was some changes in the board. Firstly, a new Chief Operating Officer was appointed in local e-Commerce entrepreneur Tom Green. The Job-Smith family did not seek to renew their association with the company and left with mutual respect and many thanks for the hard work they have done for Welsh Wrestling. For the first time, the Wrestlers and Staff will have representatives on the board who will be able to report back with any issues that they may have with the company that higher management may not know about.
When Paul Heyman took over the Managing Director's position, it coincided with Mr. Edwards's hiatus due to injury and at this time, the Edwards family left the board, meaning the TWF's founding family were not involved for the first time. All left in support of the sons Biggie and Matthew, including the retiring matriarch, Beryl Edwards. Heyman's famous trifecta of Lisa Borleon, Anne Hemming and Sarah Fry held firm with their own way forward and decisions that made them the objects of derision from many long-time TWF fans. However, Marz's knowledge of the board room meant he was able to depose Heyman's regime in mid-2008, with him operating a temporary board until January 01, 2009; when the new board would be announced.
On the stroke of midnight 2009, the Edwards family regained their control, with familiar faces Alistair Edwards returning to CFO, and Jonathan Edwards returning as President. The appointment of a "Mr. BIG" as CEO once more was regarded as revealing the worst kept secret about the new composition of the ruling team, although the biggest surprise was the arrival of Debra Bailey as Vice President has been regarded as the TWF welcoming a new face. In 2010 however it would be just BIG and A. Edwards who remain from the family, as Mr. Edwards officially resigned on January 1, 2010 as did his father Jonathan Edwards. The Chairman of the Board position was retired with the CEO becoming the most powerful. The Executive Director post was re-instated as a go-between the big three positions and the hierarchical levels below.
