(1). When is the Total Wrestling Federation on TV? What channel?
You can look on Sky Sports and 5ive all you want, but, the TWF
does not air on any television outlet in the world. The xWn is a fantasy television network. It's strictly a fantasy online wrestling organisation. Results are posted sporadically when they are completed, and substantial archives are posted here for you to view.
(2). Do you actually run a wrestling school?
As this is an online fantasy wrestling organisation, the answer would be no. We don't run a wrestling school. If you're looking for information on wrestling schools in your area, click here.
(3). Is the TWF an e-fed?
No. For a short while in late-2002, there was a "spin-off" TWF e-fed that allowed you to participate against each other on Grit BasH and on monthly pay-per-views which had different names, but it was quickly dropped after a lack of interest. As a result, the e-fed part of the idea was dropped and will never be resurrected due to lack of time and interest. However, we do actively encourage comments from fans and readers at the TWF Discussion Forums.
(4). Who writes the storylines and promos for the TWF?
That would be me, Rhys Edwards. You will also know me as Mr. BIG. The TWF was my baby for about 5 solid years, and after a year off, I've brought it back because frankly, my life sucks without it. I've single handedly written most of the TWF shows since 2000, although I have had welcome relief on occasion from my friends Nathaniel Job-Smith, aka NJS and former XCW owner, and Kyle E. Winston, aka Bandit and former XWF owner. Practically all of the storylines since 2003 have been original, since before then I was instructed to construct WWE-style storylines. However, since I've had some original ideas, Vince has gone and stolen some of mine, so I welcome the imitation!
(5). Who updates the site and forums?
Again, that's me. The first site was uploaded in 2002 when the company was going through it's first golden era. It was redesigned to "Version 3" (the "first" site was actually the second I built, but the first I uploaded) in 2003, and this stayed around until around 2004, when it was redesigned to Version 4, which was my personal favourite layout from all the sites I've designed in about 10 years. Version 5 came up in 2007 and frankly is the best site I've ever designed.
The forums were something I thought would work and introduced my mates to them in 2002 around the time of the first golden era. They were unfortunately hacked when I took a rare day off from school in July 2002, which forced me to reconsider the TWF's direction. In October 2002, I moved the forums over to Netfirms. The Netfirms forums outlasted every single forum I have ever used. The Netfirms forums closed in 2009 as a result of spambots and running out of hostage space. These forums have outlasted practically every other forums I've ever used and it's a testament to the TWF's success. In 2011, the forums were upgraded in anticipation of a revival in interest of the TWF due to the 10th anniversary of the XWF's foundation, but this never came.
(6). How did the TWF start?
Although it's now strictly fantasy, the TWF was originally a genuine organisation my friends and I had in early 2000, when the wrestling boom of the late-90s peaked. It was genuinely called the Tremains Wrestling Federation. My friends and I held matches in junior school, back gardens, parks and devised our own characters, created our own belts (until we bought some of our own), and this continued after we moved to comprehensive/high school, when we discovered a whole new audience. The TWF back then existed on the "real" matches we had, matches we had on video games, and the matches we came up with in our heads. We stopped having actual matches in 2002 because that's when most people who originally wrestled stopping giving a damn. In-between all of this, the side that you all know now got started between three or four of us, and it flourished in 2002.
(7). What purpose does the TWF serve?
The TWF's purpose was originally to keep the genuine organisation's legacy strong, which is why in 2005 it closed, as most of us moved on, and the interest in wrestling waned. I was the only one of my close friends still relatively interested in pro-wrestling. However, in the last couple of months, with TNA getting better as the weeks go by, and reading through some of my greatest shows (there will be a list of my personal favourites coming up in the next few months), I'm happy to inform you this is back. I must also give credit to Christian Calaway of Legends Championship Wrestling, whose great organisation of a similar styled fed is the reason this one came back in 2007.
The aim now is to provide an alternative outlet for people to read about wrestling that's fun and informative. The TWF will also provide an alternative to the storylines seen in WWE and TNA at present. The main reason is so I don't lose faith in the wrestling business.
(8). Where do these characters come from?
In the early days, when matches actually took place, the characters and personas you will find are real and are the personas of the guys who wrestled. Nowadays, they are often just exaggerations of aspects of people I know's personalities and made into something that people will be entertained by. Some characters are folks I used to roleplay against when I was active in e-feds and found themselves over here at their request to see what I could do. Personally, my favourite wrestlers I've written for are Mr. BIG, NJS, Hawke, The Assassin and Hades. Whilst the first three were "real" as it were, the latter two are entirely my own creations and I am very proud of how they have turned out.
(9). I have an issue with the TWF. Who do I contact?
If you have any questions or issues you want to raise, no matter how minor or serious, e-mail twf[at]rhyse[dot]net (go and do one spambots). I do my best to reply ASAP. Previously the only way to contact me was through the forums, which for one reason or another never entirely worked.
