TWF PPV Music
When the TWF first began a monthly Pay-Per-View program back in March 2000, there were a lot of things that were different to as they are now. The sets are not as good, in fact there were almost non-existent. The match quality was slightly below the TWF Average, which is excellent. And PPV Music just didn't exist.
A bit of Trivia for you. The first TWF PPV to have it's own theme was WrestleMANIA II. It's theme? 'Sonne' by Ramnstein, which more recently became The AshTaker's theme song. Over time, the TWF PPV music has ranged, from Stock/Production themes, such as for Dangerously Serious and the short-lived European Only PPV 'Rebellion', right up to current artists, such as Evanescence. The TWF recently signed a deal to keep the PPV Theme alive.
The deal was signed with Warner Bros, which has under it's stable, Linkin Park, Disturbed & Trapt. Wind-Up Entertainment, the people behind Evanescence also signed a shorter deal, but with the same idea. TWF gets to use it's music as much as it wants for a one-off fee. Reports say the deal for Warner Bros was for £10,000,000 and Wind-Up were paid around £6,400,000.
PPV Themes are also rarely sung live. The only two themes in recent memory that were performed live on TWF TV/PPV were 'Falling Apart' by TRUSTcompany for No Way BacK and of course Saliva's 'Your Disease' at Summer Break. Under the TWF's deals, the two labels can have artists perform on TWF TV/PPV at least 3 times a year. Rumours are
circulating that there is a possible performance lined up for Halloween Hell or PayBack.
The TWF feels that PPV Music is almost just as important as the PPV itself. Put it this way, there are several more quality PPV themes coming up.
