Dream Matches
In the almost 5 long years of the TWF, we have seen many superstars come and go. Many have stayed and gone on to become some of the biggest icons of our age. But there are some things that haven't happened. TWF Fans still dream of those blockbuster matches that could headline the Summer Breaks and No Way BacKs of the future. The Dreams still live on. So in this special feature, we discuss the dream matches that we'd all LOVE to see.
Mr. BIG vs. Marz
Singles Match
Let's start off with quite obviously the most anticipated match of all time. Although many would disagree, the match TWF fans still dream about is the battle between the two men whom many believe catapulted the TWF to the heights it is at today. In one corner, you have one of the biggest men in the TWF, an 11-Time World Champion; and in the other you have the demonic mind of the First TWF Full House Winner. The two men's histories are inter-twined. The dream match almost came about at Summer Break 2003 in front of 100,000+ at The Bridgend Dome, but never happened due to the fact that Marz left the TWF just prior to the match. So the TWF fan's
appetite is still licking for a legendary match.
Many believe should a match take place, despite Mr. BIG's power, Marz's speed and
technicality could win the day. There are those who disagree of course, saying Biggie has the capability to pull of any kind of upset, even though he is, by far, one of the biggest fan favourites in TWF history.
Winner: It would be an even contest, but...Mr. BIG
NJS vs. The AshTaker
Tables, Ladders, Cell Match
These two are almost exactly like Marz & Mr. BIG, their histories are intertwined. But, while one has gone on to become the first xWa Champion, the other switched to the
dark side, scaring his opponents right out of the arena. The AshTaker and NJS have had PPV matches before, but they've never had a Tables, Ladders, Cell Match. In fact, The AshTaker has experience in the Tables, Ladders, Cell Match, defeating the match's innovator Mr. BIG at KOTR '02. NJS has been in Hell-in-a-Cell matches, but as Steven Dimmock, Dope C, Hair Maister and The AshTaker will tell you, Tables, Ladders, Cell matches are a different cup of tea. It is perhaps only second to the House of Pain as the most brutal match the TWF has ever held.
But, who would win such a contest? It would be a sight to see, but we think that it could be a draw.
Winner: Draw
Jean Claude Van Slam & The Vamp vs. Marz & The Shott
Tag-Team Match
JCVS & The Vamp, arguably the greatest Tag-Team in TWF History, vs. the self proclaimed greatest Tag-Team in Welsh Wrestling. JCVS and The Vamp have become the most recognisable faces in Tag-Team History, behind only the Dudley Boyz and the Road Warriors. The two men's styles are explosive and unpredictable. Marz & The Shott's style is very different. The two men prefer to dominate one of their opponents and then decimate the other and win the match through cheating. The Shott has since changed his style, but Marz's 'cheat to win and pile 'em high' style has stayed the same.
There are only 1 true winners in this match, and even though Marz & The Shott win on experience, we think that JCVS & The Vamp would win quite convincingly.
Winner: Jean Claude Van Slam & The Vamp
Atomically Kool Kat vs. Lita
Singles Match
They are the two biggest names in female wrestling today. One is the longest reigning TWF Champion of all time, holding the Women's Championship for 550+ days and the other is a 2-Time WWE Women's Champion, 2-Time XCW Women's Champion and the current TWF Women's Champion. Lita uses a high-flying style, much like her boyfriend NJS. Her style is quick and she is able to pounce on her opponents. Lita doesn't lack intelligence either. She knows when to do things. Kool Kat uses a mechanical style,
dismantling her opponent stage by stage, before then hitting them right in the face with a deadly kick, known as 'The Feliner'.
Much like Marz vs. Mr. BIG, it would be a tale of Speed vs. Power. But in this contest, we feel Lita will come out on top.
Winner: Lita
The Terminator vs. The Assassin
Hardkore Match
This is a match not many of thought about, but of those who have, it is eagerly awaited. Why? Well, think about it. The Terminator has transformed from the posh snob James Jonathan-Jones into perhaps the most
terrifying superstar in the xWa. The Terminator is willing to do what he can to defeat his
adversaries. Then, there is The Assassin. Even though this October he finishes his rookie year, he is already a 2-Time World Champion, holding NCW and RWF Gold. He was also the last man to be NCW Champion, as he jumped ship before NCW drowned. The Assassin is a calculated, powerful son-of-a-gun, which is why this match is so
anticipated. The two men's styles are quite similar in places, but a drastic contrast in others.
A winner? Impossible to choose!
Winner: ???
The Bandit vs. JT Money
Singles Match
Ah-ha! Now this is an interesting one. The Bandit is a true classy act. He was once the most hated man on the planet, but right now, he is riding the crest of a wave in the TWF. He rarely uses the submission moves that he used during his XWF days, but instead uses a much more brawling style. JT Money, is what Bandit once was. A high-tuned technical wrestler, who could give Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit a real run for their money.
In a match like this, we think that if Bandit uses some of the moves that he once used, he could defeat JT Money in what you could call, a purist's dream match.
Winner: The Bandit if he uses his XWF-style moves, otherwise, JT Money
High Voltage vs. Frekishi
High Incident/Scaffold Match
And finally...High Voltage and Frekishi, the former stable-mates in The BoyZ in 2000, could face off in a truly brutal encounter. Frekishi, who recently threw Mr. BIG off the stage and injured The Only One for just over 6 months, would have a real battle against another man who loves to throw people over the edge, High Voltage. HV and Frekishi use the almost exact same move set. They are identical in their height, weight, bench-press number, shoe-size...almost everything, except their resumes. Frekishi has only won 1 TWF World Championship. High Voltage, who is a lot more in-experienced compared to Frekishi is a Full House Winner.
A winner...well, it's simply experience that is the deciding factor. Frekishi, a true TWF Veteran, has got to be the favourite, and we'll go with him.
Winner: Frekishi
