We now have more details on William Regal's status after his appearance on WWE.com's webcast Byte This today. For those of you who did not listen to the show, Regal confirmed that he became sick since WWE got back from their tour in India. Regal said that he never felt well after, but continued to wrestle due to enjoying wrestling with Lance Storm as his tag team partner.
Two weeks before WrestleMania Regal got very ill and his lower body started to swell up. Regal had a match that night, which he suffered a concussion in; however, it was found that the concussion had nothing to do with what was going on with his illness. The day after the match Regal's body was holding 15-20 pounds of water and finally after going to several doctors he was admitted to a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to find out it was a problem with his heart. Regal's heart beat was irregular, causing it to beat too fast and causing the right side of his heart to swell up.

Doctors treated Regal's condition with electric shock treatment to stop his heart and start it again and it has been normal since. Regal is said to be doing fine, however, is not wrestling right now due to the medication that he is on to make sure that he is alright. Regal is reported to be back at normal weight and doing just fine.

What I find funny is Regal has had exactly the same treatment as my father has! He had an irr-regular heartbeat and he was given the electric shock treatment and he's just fine. Strange that, I think.
